Running late, Megan is in the car with Eliza, and sends Frank a text, assuring him he’s on her way. As she’s texting, she accidentally crashes into the back of a car, which knocks over Pollard. Unscathed, Megan looks on in horror at the carnage she’s caused with just one text. Meanwhile, Frank is disappointed when Megan doesn’t turn up for lunch. When he goes round to confront her, he’s instead worried for her, as a shaken Megan tells him about the crash, reeling from her own guilt.

Rhona tells a delighted Kim that Jamie is coming for an interview the next day. Later, at the vets, Paddy is stunned to learn that Jamie Tate is one of the potential interviewees. Rhona tries to assure a furious Paddy and Vanessa that Jamie could be an asset to the team and persuades them to give him a chance.

However, they remain unsympathetic when Jamie fails to turn up and leave it up to Rhona to break the news to Kim. Jamie leaves a voicemail message, apologising for his absence, and assuring that he’s still interested in the position. Later, he arrives in the village with a bang after Megan runs into his car whilst she is texting, in turn crashing into poor Eric Pollard. Later Jamie arrives at Home Farm demanding his car keys, but Kim plays innocent and offers to help him find them, secretly she’s determined to spend some time with him.

Faith moans to Chas and Bear about Pollard’s dismissive behaviour towards her and Bear is more than happy to be a shoulder to cry on. When David explains to Pollard he has been ignoring Faith, an upset Pollard is determined to rectify things. As he heads to the Woolpack a distracted Pollard is knocked down as Megan crashes into the back of Jamie’s car. Even as he is taken away in an ambulance, Pollard is desperate to see Faith. Meanwhile, in the Woolpack, Bear moves in for a kiss with Faith. Later in hospital Faith, Chas, and David are all terrified when Pollard falls unconscious suddenly and the nurses rush in… All they can do is watch on as he is rushed into surgery.

When Will prepares to take his harassment of Harriet to the next level, Dawn is conflicted; particularly as Harriet has arranged another meeting with social services about Lucas. As Will sees Dawn and Harriet together, he begins to question her loyalties. Meeting her on a country road, she tries to assure him he can count on her saying she’s only using Harriet to get Lucas back, but Will isn’t convinced. When Dawn asks what she can do to prove her loyalty, she is shocked by Will’s request. What will she agree to do?

On the day of the local election, Nicola worries whether she can beat Hilary and Harry. Later, she is drinking heavily in the pub, drowning her sorrows as she’s certain she’s lost the election.
