The new series, Don’t Filter Feelings, is hosted by presenter and journalist Lauren Layfield, and features issues which matter and and people who have stories to share.

For the first episode Hollyoaks cast members Kieron Richardson and Amy Conahan join Lauren to explore what it means to be different.

Amy is a wheelchair user and Kieron is gay and they talk about their personal experiences, celebrating individuality and tackling the challenges we face in achieving better equality and re-evaluating what is “normal”.

Hollyoaks has received much critical and audience acclaim for its issue-based storylines and isn’t afraid to explore difficult subjects to raise awareness and help viewers understand tricky topics through the eyes of their favourite characters.

Don’t Filter Feelings explores some of these issues across 10 episodes launching with What Is Different?

Speaking in the first episode Ste Hay actor Kieron Richardson said “There is no norm, there is no average, OK there is a difference and I’ve accepted that from today’s podcast but the difference doesn’t have to be negative. Or what you see as your negative someone else will see that makes you amazing. If you want to own the word different, I would say make it about the best attributes about yourself.”

The Don’t Filter Feelings Podcast will premiere tonight at 7.30PM on all Podcast platforms.
