No, you aren’t seeing a lookalike, Actor Rory Cowan who is perhaps best known for his long stint as Rory Brown in Mrs Brown’s Boys will be joining the RTE One soap this weekend as John Bosco Walsh.

Bosco, Molly’s brother, arrives to the O’Briens’ house with Rose in tow because as Rose’s dementia has progressed, Molly can no longer care for her.
The story-line regarding Rose’s dementia is particularly poignant for Rory, whose own mother, Esther, also suffered with the condition.
Speaking to RTE about joining the cast of Ireland’s favourite soap Rory was clearly excited to be a part of the family.
I’m over the moon with excitement and I’m delighted to be eventually able to let people know I’ve joined the cast of Fair City. The other cast members gave me a lovely welcome when I called in to see them. I feel right at home in Carrigstown. I’m delighted with the move there.
Besides, if you’re going to join a show, after you’ve been in a huge TV show already, then what’s better than joining the biggest drama series on Irish television.
Tell us about your character, Bosco
Rory: Bosco is originally from County Galway, and in his teens he went to work in London, where he lived for about forty years. He came back home to live in County Galway with his sister, Molly, but he missed the pace of life in the big city, so he moved to Dublin. I can’t wait to see what he gets up to in Carrigstown.
Fair City airs Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on RTÉ One at 8pm
