Passions ignite once more as young hearts, lively suitors and slow burners come together for a smouldering new series of First Dates.
With everyone in the restaurant on a blind date, nerves are always running high. But on hand, as always, with encouraging words and matchmaking savoir faire are Maitre’D Mateo, master-mixologist Ethan – ably assisted by Alice, Pete and Libby.
In a first for the restaurant, double daters Mary and Martina (45) from Limerick are twins who don’t share the same taste in men. Will Mullingar men clean-cut Sylvester (45) and dashing master stonemason David (45) whet their appetite?
Animation student Eric (24) from Limerick worries that his stammer might ruin his date with Ashley (25) from Donegal but it seems romance knows no such impediment.
And unrepentant ladies’ man Barry-John (24) from south Dublin meets his match in the form of feisty model Katarina (25) from Laois.
So prepare for an intoxicating blend of romance, flirtatious faux-pas, doorway malfunctions, fluttering nerves, and the tantalising prospect of second dates as the First Dates restaurant turns up the heat with a fresh intake of hopeful singletons.
First Dates Ireland, Series 5, begins on RTE Two 9:30pm on the 9th January 2020
