When a large consignment of medical supplies arrive at the Mill, Valerie’s forced to reveal to Bear that Ayesha ordered them. Ayesha is put out when Bear suggests she made a mistake and she should deal with it.

Joan Jonson writes to Emma, after she’s heard her ‘Aunty Em’ radio show, admitting Emma’s helped her decide to face up to her past. Joan’s grandson, Alfie, delivers the letter to Emma, despite his mum, Lou, protesting he does too much for Joan.

A panicked Lou calls Alfie and they all meet at the campus surgery.

Valerie suggests to Bear that there’s more need than ever to get Bear to Ayesha’s birthday party. Sid is horrified, seeing their argument as proof they aren’t meant to be. However, Valerie won’t let it go and Sid is forced to agree.
