With Samson stuck on his school trip, Sam and Lydia are in lockdown together having turfed Mandy and Vinny out. Sam won’t let Lydia out of the house and it’s clear he’s concerned about something. However, fed-up with only sausages and mash for tea, Lydia ventures out to the shop and when Sam finds out he is furious. Out of character for Sam, he snaps at Lydia and the two go to bed on bad terms. However the real truth for Sam’s over protectiveness soon comes to light but can he make Lydia see his way of thinking?

Cain and Aaron are trying to adjust to life in lockdown and Cain is adamant he won’t be opening up about his feelings to Aaron. When a letter arrives with a prison stamp on it, Cain, not wanting Aaron to slip back into his hole of despair over Robert, hides the letter in a magazine. As the days pass by, Cain and Aaron get drunk but Cain lets slip about the letter leaving Aaron furious.

With Mandy and Vinny holed up in the salon for lockdown things are a little less conventional. They have an endless supply of beauty products, some beers, a microwave and a karaoke machine. Their only downside to their situation is Leyla seems to have locked the prosecco fridge and they can’t locate the key. With Paul the main topic of conversation Mandy and Vinny navigate through their past and soon Mandy discloses a long held secret that has affected her whole life. Vinny at last understands her long held resentments and fears.

Nicola and Jimmy are riling each other up in lockdown. Nicola is busy with her counselling but something is obviously bothering her. She’s sad and Jimmy can’t help but be aware of it but he’s at a loss at what to do. As she constantly tells him her life is dull, her life is boring, and everyone else in the village is living a better life than her, Jimmy has to face reality.

Chas wants to make the most out of their time at home under lockdown, either with a freshly painted house or leave it fitter and healthier than when they went into it.
But it seems Paddy initially has plans to drink the cellar dry. But underneath his jovial banter Paddy is acutely aware he wants to try and get things back on track with Chas. When Chas is emotional after clapping for the carers Paddy finds his old mandolin in the attic and it’s a chance for him too to reflect. Before long eager to please Paddy has plans for them and sets up a fictional hot restaurant date and they relish the time to talk to each other. But can they fix their relationship properly?

Lockdown is a trial at Tall Trees. Marlon is feeling disconnected as both his kids April and Leo are staying at other houses. He is shocked to discover that Ellis has invited his father to live in the house with them as he has nowhere else to go. But Al and Marlon couldn’t be more different and soon the tensions between them rear up.
