Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is a woman on a mission to adopt her fiancées child Johnny. The ball was set rolling when Vanessa wanted to give Johnny a stable future after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

Charity has so far hit a stumbling block with tracking down Johnny’s dad Kirin who is currently on the run in America.

Tomorrow (Wednesday 5 August) Charity faces a meeting with a social worker who quizzes her over just why she wants to adopt the youngster. The social worker also explains that at some point they will need to speak with Kirin but the adoption can still go ahead without him, given the left of time he has been gone.

After the social worker explains about background checks Charity comes clean about past convictions for soliciting and perverting the course of justice.
