A change for Al Haskey (Ian Midlane); Valerie Pitman (Sarah Moyle) steps into the breach to help Luca McIntyre (Ross McLaren) with the trip of a lifetime; and, finally, for Dr Emma Reid (Dido Miles), it’s not her birthday until she gets a nice quiet day.

Monday March 7

Dr Zara Carmichael (Elizabeth Dermot Walsh) is unimpressed with Dr Emma Reid (Dido Miles) winding up the staff, and when Princess Buchanan (Laura White) arrives at The Mill, Bear Sylvester (Dex Lee) gives her a guided tour of the building and It’s going okay for Princess, until she meets Karen Hollins (Jan Pearson), whom she offends twice by calling Caroline.

Tuesday March 8

The Mill atmosphere is still not a happy one and Dr Daniel Granger (Matthew Chambers), Zara and Bear decide to speak to the unhappy staff individually

Dr Sid Vere (Ashley Rice) is reassured by Daniel when he asks him to be Princess’s trainer – Sid agrees, but Sid points out that it’s already part of his responsibility.

Dr Al Haskey (Ian Midlane) first day at Sutton Vale sees his car break down before work, deal with the creepy behavior of the IT technician Bix Banton (Jon Ramm) and deal with receptionist Rosie Colton (Janice Connolly) who he advises shouldn’t be giving advice to the patients.

Meanwhile, Asif Mehta (Raj Paul) learns that his loan application has been denied and attends a therapy appointment with Dr Jimmi Clay (Adrian Lewis Morgan) reporting that he is depressed and fears that the business is certainly doomed.

Wednesday March 9

Luca McIntyre (Ross McLaren) is on a mission as he attempts to help frail patient Winnie Jones (Tina Gray) with his idea of taking her on a round-the-world trip from her bed; with the help of props from Valerie Pitman (Sarah Moyle), he will take Winnie all over the world.

Jimmi guides Asif through a mindfulness exercise in the woods for a counselling session. He gets Asif to consider what really makes him happy.

Thursday March 10

Despite Emma’s wishes for a quiet day, when The Mill gang plots together things get anything but quiet. Meanwhile, Jimmi can’t get his mind off Asif; Bear upsets Sid; and Zara stews over the photos taken at the party.

After getting word that Winnie is fading fast, Luca misses Emma’s party and goes to see her to say his goodbyes before it is too late.

Doctors airs Monday – Thursday on BBC One at 13:45 and then at 7pm on BBC Two
