Adult relationships in soapland are complicated but when you are young, and in love, it’s even harder to get it right without making mistakes. Hope (Isabella Flanagan) sadly saw her new found friendship with Sam end almost as soon as it began after a science sabotage backfired.
When Corrie boss Iain MacLeod promised ‘a down-to-earth, grounded side of Hope’ it was an interesting direction for her having been dubbed ‘devil child’ for years for her naughty behaviour and love of pyromania.
Unfortunately Hope’s new relationship with Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) went up in flames this evening when she sabotaged his science experiment in Speed Daal.

Hope later admitted to Sam that she was responsible for the catasrophe but her behaviour saw Sam call time on their relationship.
‘I’m sorry you can’t take a joke, I’m sorry if you’re taking her side’ expressed a upset Hope as Sam pointed out: ‘It’s not me, it’s you’, before walking out.
Clearly upset by what had happened Hope was comforted by Tyrone as she cried.

Can Sam and Hope fix things? will they even try?
Coronation Street continues 8pm on Wednesday airing on ITV1 and ITVX.
