It’s the first of three recording sessions, and the members of Lyrik assemble for their final preparation discussions. Tensions are high. Theo’s ideas are shot down, especially by Kirby. Eden and Mercedes are never going to get along. Justin’s opinions on getting a better deal are unwelcome. But mood shifts entirely when Lyrik enters the studio. The dream is coming true! There’s jumping for joy. There’s beers. They’re ready. And they wouldn’t have made without Mercedes.
They record a killer version of ‘Hold on to This Moment’, complete with Mercedes’ string section. It’s an electric performance. Everyone’s in their element, and through a montage of a hard night’s work, the members of Lyrik are satisfied that they’ve made great progress. All jump in Theo’s car to head home for the night, with the exception of Remi and Mercedes who stay for more mixing. Now that they are finally alone, Mercedes makes her move on Remi.
Felicity has returned from her second counselling session, and things are feeling better. She is able to have a laugh with Cash who is enjoying some time off. But Tane is not joining in the laughter. He is stuck in his own head. Felicity admits to Cash – she and Tane have spent lot of time not talking lately. Felicity reaches out to him. She’s noticed he hasn’t been himself lately, but Tane can’t bring himself to open up. Tane wakes in the middle of the night and goes to the boxing ring where he can unleash his fury.
