Irene decides to play a prank on the gossipers in Summer Bay by pretending to have a romantic connection with John. Marilyn seems bothered by this, and starts inventing her own date for an upcoming wedding. Tane cancels his plans to support Felicity, who is still recovering from a traumatic event. However, they receive a blackmail message, threatening to expose a video of Felicity’s assault unless they pay $1000.

Felicity receives a blackmail text and wants to keep it a secret from her brother. Tane suggests going to the police, but Felicity refuses. Cash becomes suspicious and Tane lies to protect Felicity. Xander accidentally reveals the situation to Cash, who confronts Felicity. Felicity receives a follow-up text demanding payment. Despite Tane’s disagreement, Felicity decides to pay the blackmailer. Marilyn is shocked by John and Irene’s affectionate behavior and confides in Alf. Alf questions Irene, who hints at a romantic connection with John. Xander and Mac further fuel the gossip, causing Marilyn to apologize to Alf and express her disappointment in John and Irene for not being honest with her.

Meanwhile, Marilyn grapples with her feelings for John and Irene, ultimately deciding to prioritize their happiness. However, Alf encourages John to be honest about moving on, as it has upset Marilyn. John eventually confesses his feelings to Marilyn, asking her to be his plus one at a wedding. As Theo seeks support from Alf regarding Justin’s struggles, Justin expresses his concerns about Tegan’s ability to handle Andrew’s needs. Alf reassures Justin that Tegan is family to Andrew and that Justin has given him the confidence to make his own decisions. However, Justin remains uncertain.
