Annika arrives at the scene of a houseboat caught in a raging blaze at Glasgow’s canals to find that the victim trapped inside is a former police officer. The fiery scene prompts her to reflect on Prometheus, titan god of fire, as she considers retribution throughout the case.
A recently released murderer, brought to justice by the victim years ago, quickly becomes a sinister top suspect as he seems to delight in the game of cat-and-mouse with the team.
However, with the victim’s unknown houseguest gone to ground, the case may have further reaching consequences than is first thought.
