The Varga-Murphy family settle into their new life on Ramsay Street, oblivious to the fact that Wendy is sore over Cara’s appointment as the new Lassiters Building Manager. Certain she had the job in the bag, Wendy can’t comprehend why Cara was awarded it. When Paul denies her answers, Wendy seeks them by snooping in the back of Cara’s car. She finds a bunch of stock from a prominent building company that she suspects is stolen. Wendy convinces a reluctant Sadie to steal into Paul’s office and snap photos of Cara’s CV. When Wendy sees Cara has omitted the building company’s job from her CV, her suspicions are bolstered. She determines to keep digging for dirt.
Byron’s drunken declaration results in Reece sitting down with him for a frank discussion. Having presumed Reece made a judgement about him regarding his escort work, Byron’s surprised to discover her issue has more to do with her own baggage. She’s been nothing more than a transaction for past lovers and feared Reece might be seeing her the same way. Assuring Reece that he wants her for her, the two decide to take their relationship to the next stage, bringing it out of hotel rooms and elevators, and into the light.
Terese considers withdrawing her expression of interest for the school site in order to salvage her friendship with Jane. But on contacting the Ed. Department, she learns there are now many other bidders. The school is certain to close no matter who wins the tender. In light of this, Terese decides to stay the course, but when she explains her reasons to Jane she’s met with acrimony. Trouble also brews on the home front. Mel’s pig arrives in the post – it’s been returned to its sender, Nell. Nell downplays, but when the pig falls and breaks, a note Nell stuffed inside is revealed. Toadie is stunned to discover it’s a plea from Nell to Mel to come back.
Nell’s true feelings are finally out in the open.
