Armed with the video from the hotel elevator, Paul ambushes Reece with what he’s found. Though initially unfazed, she’s thrown when Paul assumes Byron is back on the game and Reece is his latest client. Stunned to learn of Byron’s former career, Reece is hurt to think she was just a job, and abruptly cancels their plans. When Reece hands him an envelope of cash, signalling that they’re done, Byron’s gutted, having started to fall for her. Urged by Jane not to give up on the real thing, and fuelled by way too much Dutch courage, Byron loudly makes his case to Reece in the middle of Lassiters, causing a scene and removing the last vestiges of secrecy around their relationship. He’s desperate for another chance, and we go out wondering on how Reece will respond…
Meanwhile, Mackenzie is trying to shake off any feelings about Haz that she allowed to creep in. It’s made difficult when she runs into him at the beach, meeting his delightful date, Billie. When she later finds herself feeling single and lonely at home, Mackenzie decides it’s time to truly get back out there properly. Creating a dating profile online, she enlists Sadie’s help in weeding through potential matches, officially putting herself back on the market.
As he prepares to head off, Harold drops in on his nearest and dearest. He’s managed to book himself a berth on a grand train odyssey around the country, and Susan notes that Karl is particularly envious of the adventures that awaits Harold.
