Rose has let Samuel’s call go to voicemail and is rocked when listening to the message back – Samuel wants to meet her, and he’s around today. “This is fast” she confides in Mali, but ultimately, she has to do it. Mali offers to support her, but Rose knows she needs to go this one alone. Face to face with Samuel Edwards, Rose has questions. Foremost, why hasn’t Samuel ever been a part of her life? He counters – Samuel had no idea Yvette was pregnant, and he would have supported her. As they talk, Samuel produces a family bible, and Rose is touched when he invites her to add her name to the list of generations. “You’re officially part of the family” he tells her.
Felicity is overcome with emotion when she receives an update on the Restorative Justice program – the facilitator has recommended that a meeting with her attacker can go ahead. Felicity is torn, and Eden, in spite of her own reservations, is a steadfast support. “It’s entirely your decision” she tells her friend. Mulling over the mammoth choice ahead of her, Felicity wants to know what her friends would do in her shoes. Eden wouldn’t see him, she says, but Mackenzie would. She’d want to look him in the eye when she tells him what a waste of space he is. The next morning, Felicity has clarity – she has to see her attacker so she can fill in the blanks. She’s doing this.
