Theo prepares for his return to the mechanics course at TAFE, but Justin is not convinced by any of the candidates to take the role of his supervisor. In fact, Justin’s determined to be reinstated himself so that he can offer Theo personal guidance. While Leah and Theo are sceptical, Justin acts fast. He wins over Theo’s tutor and soon receives the confirmation call. Already, Justin has the curriculum and is eager to go through it. However, Leah clocks Theo’s hesitance. When she confronts him about it, he is agitated. Theo claims everything is fine, and Leah needs to drop it. But Leah knows better than to not trust her gut.
Rose and Xander are yet to see eye to eye about her relationship with Samuel, Rose’s biological father. Xander feels that Rose’s indecision continues to hurt the people around her, and Mali’s continued interference is not warranted. Xander is curt. He’s done discussing it with Mali, who arrives to apologise to Rose. She accepts but encourages him to stay out of the siblings’ feud. In the calm after the storm, Rose and Xander finally start to repair. She’s not sure herself how she feels about the situation, but she would like to try and explain if he’s willing to listen.
The teambuilding event for the Surf Club committee is fast approaching, and John is swindling everything he can from Mackenzie. He coaxes Salt into offering some additional friendly competitions and prizes for the winners. But despite her generosity in support of the club, Mackenzie draws the line on any of the top shelf alcohol, shutting John down before he can even suggest it. Xander is hosting the event, but his family problems have John questioning if he’s up to the task. Mackenzie however is reassuring. Motivating staff is her speciality. Can she deliver for John’s big night?
