An unconscious Krista lies on the floor of Chelsea’s hotel room… And, for a moment, a panicked Chelsea, who knows all her lies will be uncovered as soon as Krista comes to, wonders if it would be better not to call an ambulance… The decision is made, however, as Holly arrives on the scene and is shocked to see Krista in such a state. Aaron is wracked with guilt when he gets the news that Krista’s in hospital, given that he and Krista were both taking drugs together earlier in the evening. Aaron is cagey when he’s questioned by Nicolette, although the pressure of the secret is too much, and Aaron later comes clean, confessing the truth to Leo. Leo is furious at his brother-in-law’s betrayal, accusing Aaron of putting his own selfish needs before Krista’s well-being. Nicolette is similarly enraged, and tells Aaron that until he gets himself together she won’t allow him to see Isla. Leo, meanwhile, upon finding out Krista is using drugs again, assures her that he’ll do whatever he can to help. He’s devastated when Krista reminds him that she’s not his responsibility anymore.
Chelsea is feeling utterly defeated, assuming that all her lies are about to be uncovered. Feeling like she’s got nothing left to lose, Chelsea is brutally honest with Terese, telling her that no woman will ever stand a chance with Paul while Terese is around. Terese reminds Chelsea that she’s the one who’s in a relationship with Paul, and is shocked when Chelsea bitterly reveals that Paul is using her as a way of making Terese feel more comfortable to be around him. Fired up, Terese confronts Paul, who confirms what Chelsea has said is true. He declares his love for Terese, who angrily tells him she’ll never allow herself to be duped by him again.
Toadie returns to Erinsborough, and makes it clear he’s going to do whatever it takes to make Terese see that he’s worthy of another chance. Susan, meanwhile, insists that she’s decided to turn down the Operations Manager job at Eirini Rising, however when Toadie shares with Karl how much Susan lit up when she talked about it, Karl makes it his mission to convince Susan to re-think her decision and assures her they’ll find a way to navigate her concerns.
