Corrie favourite Nick Tilsley is left heartbroken as Leanne Battersby becomes increasingly embroiled with the controversial Altovent Institute.
Eagle-eyed Toyah has serious concerns after Leanne reveals she’s met a man named Jared at the Institute who’s happy to help Simon with his business. Toyah is convinced it’s all a scam, and upon further investigation, discovers a disturbing online forum exposing the truth about Altovent.
Leanne, however, remains blissfully unaware, even when Rowan, a charming representative from the Institute, offers her a promotion and a luxurious retreat!
Actor Ben Price, who plays Nick, has spoken out about the upcoming storyline, revealing Nick’s growing suspicions and fear for Leanne’s safety.
“Leanne’s emotional withdrawal from Nick is very worrying,” says Ben. “He’s all for her doing something for herself, but it’s the fact that she’s being influenced and talked into things she wouldn’t normally do.”
Things go from bad to worse when Leanne announces she’s dropping everything to attend a retreat, leaving a devastated Nick and a troubled Simon in her wake.
“Nick’s gutted,” Ben admits. “He can’t help but think this could be the end of their relationship. There’s a lot of jealousy there too, that she’d rather spend time with these strangers than with him.”
With Leanne out of the picture, will Nick and Toyah be forced to team up to save her?
