Two vicious XL Bully dogs have mauled dozens of sheep in a horrific attack on a farm near Wrexham, North Wales. Shocking footage captured on police bodycams shows the aftermath of the carnage, with 22 sheep confirmed dead and a further 48 left injured.

The devastated farmer is estimated to have lost a staggering £14,000 worth of livestock.

Police say this is just one of many similar incidents they face, with officer Iwan Owen claiming sheep attacks are a “weekly occurrence” in the region. Owen blasts irresponsible dog owners, questioning why anyone would keep such a powerful breed as a pet.

“These dogs are dangerous,” Owen said. “There’s no chance for a farmer to fight one off without serious injury.”

The attack is due to be aired on the new series of S4C’s Y Llinell Las, which follows the work of the North Wales Police. But the show isn’t all bad news.

The series also features the vital work of the Dog Unit, with footage showing a police dog helping apprehend criminals after a car chase.

“Dogs are an essential part of the force,” says officer Siôn Parry. “They’re a lot more intimidating than a regular cop!”
