In a shocking twist, Chrissie Watts, the notorious villain known for murdering her husband Den Watts, is set to return to Albert Square this autumn. Tracy-Ann Oberman will reprise the iconic role for a short but explosive stint.

Chrissie’s last appearance in Walford was in 2005 when she was imprisoned for Den’s murder. She had framed Sam Mitchell for the crime, but her deception was eventually uncovered.

Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw promises fireworks: “I’m keeping tight-lipped on the exact circumstances relating to her return for the time being, but what I can promise is that it’s never quiet when Chrissie Watts is around.”

Oberman herself is thrilled to be back: “The scripts are fantastic and I hope the viewers enjoy her as much as I am enjoying playing her again.”

Chrissie’s return is sure to stir up old tensions and create new drama. With a long list of enemies in Walford, including Sharon Watts, Den’s beloved daughter, it’s safe to say that her reappearance will cause a major shakeup in Albert Square.
