Coronation Street fans, brace yourselves for some jaw-dropping drama as Toyah Habeeb finds herself entangled in a web of secrets and unexpected turns. Actress Georgia Taylor opens up to Eastieoaks.com about the storyline that has viewers on the edge of their seats.

When asked about Toyah’s affair with Nick, Taylor revealed her excitement. “Oh, it’s been so much fun,” she said. “Jane [Danson], who plays Leanne, is my best friend, so I always love working with her. And it’s been really fun to do all these scenes with Ben [Price], who plays Nick. Soaps were kind of built on those juicy affair storylines. I think secretly people love it, and when you keep it within a family unit, it just creates even more drama because the stakes are even higher.”

Taylor was equally surprised by the baby storyline, which has roots in events from 20 years ago. “I don’t think anyone would have predicted that because it was quite an unusual turn of events,” she shared. “The writing team, particularly Jan McFerry, handled it really sensibly and gave me some beautiful scripts to make it as believable as possible. We’re asking the audience to come along with us because we know we are rewriting history, and sometimes soaps do have to do that to create more storylines.”

Just when fans thought they’d seen it all, Toyah faced another potential pregnancy this week. “It’s a huge shock because Toyah’s IVF journey showed she can’t conceive and she’s been told she will never be able to carry a child. But, of course, this is soapland, so anything can happen,” Taylor explained. The episodes saw Toyah experiencing abdominal pain and being rushed to the hospital, where doctors discoverd she might be pregnant. “Alongside that, there is also a separate health scare,” Taylor hinted. “It will be interesting to see if having Nick as her support is what brings them closer together.”

With Leanne distancing herself from the family, the bond between Nick and Toyah is growing. “There’s the question of, would Nick want to be a father again? That’s a whole other thing to explore,” Taylor mused. “And we can’t forget Nick’s son, Sam, who adds another layer to the drama.”

Coronation Street continues Monday on ITV1 as Leanne tells Nick she is going to spend the day looking after Toyah but when Rowan calls asking her to attend the taster session for new recruits Toyah offers to go with her.
