In a shocking twist that has stunned Hollyoaks fans, Dominic Power’s character, Dave Williams, has been unmasked as the mysterious and menacing figure known as ‘Blue.’ For months, viewers have been speculating on the true identity of the masked vigilante terrorizing the village, but few suspected the mild-mannered family man would be behind the helmet.
Speaking about the reveal, Dominic Power shared his thoughts on why Dave was able to fly under Warren’s radar as a suspect. “For the same reason he slipped under the audience’s radar – he’s an everyman, a big softie. He’s shown a temper at times, but never the depth of menace that Blue possesses.”
The actor teased a dramatic confrontation between Warren and Dave, saying, “It’s inevitable they’re going to go toe-to-toe. Working with Jamie and Jen has been amazing, and you can expect a little rumble in the jungle, or rather, the woods.”
Fans were also curious if Dave knows about his new neighbor Donny’s past as a former cop fixated on the Blue case. “He does learn that Donny is ex-police,” Power revealed, “but Donny starts suspecting Ethan is Blue. It adds a nice twist, but Donny’s not letting up.”
Reflecting on the moment he found out Dave was Blue, Power confessed, “My reaction was as surprised as I hope the audience’s will be! It’s been tough keeping the secret, especially in public, where I’ve had to bite my tongue.”
Power also touched on Dave’s complex double life and how it influenced his performance. “Dave is truly in love with Cindy, but when he’s Blue, Dave doesn’t exist. It’s about believing your own lies to make it convincing.”
As for the future, Power hinted that Blue’s return was triggered by the breakdown of Dave’s family, culminating in the murder of his mother, Norma. “Once he crossed that line, there’s no limit to how far Blue will go for revenge. He doesn’t just want to kill Warren; he wants him to suffer in the cruelest way.”
