Linda Carter’s struggle with sobriety reaches a breaking point ahead of her pre-trial meeting, as the poison pen letters continue to pile up. The situation worsens when she discovers that the anonymous tormentor now has her phone number. Despite her son Johnny’s desperate attempts to keep her on track, including a heated confrontation, Linda’s situation turns dire. With prosecutor Tamara closing in, will Linda be able to pull herself together in time?
Meanwhile, the Beale family is at odds once again. Cindy is furious when she learns that Peter is planning to work for Junior, and she offers him a managerial role at Beale’s Eels, aiming to push Bobby aside. When that fails, Cindy tries to sabotage Peter’s new job by ordering Junior to retract the offer. But Junior refuses, leading Cindy to spread lies in a bid to protect her interests.
Elsewhere, Sonia’s excitement over her engagement is dampened by the belief that her ring was stolen during Reiss’s supposed mugging. However, when she spots Suki wearing the ring, Eve quickly covers for Reiss, claiming it was bought from a pawn shop. As Sonia starts to piece together the truth, Reiss finds himself in an increasingly tight spot.
