Christmas on the cobbles promises heartache, drama, and tough choices as Daniel’s tangled love life takes centre stage. Producer Kate Brooks teased a whirlwind festive season involving Bethany, Daniel, and Daisy, saying, ‘That love triangle is brilliant, you know, it’s a love triangle that keeps on giving.’
While Daniel has been torn between the two women for a while, this storyline will ‘certainly carry through December and into the new year,’ Kate confirmed. She added, ‘Daniel is in love with two women, that’s what it boils down to. He loves Bethany, but he also loves Daisy, and not many people can pull that off, but if anyone can, a Barlow can.’
Viewers can expect plenty of twists as Daniel wrestles with his feelings, torn between head and heart. ‘He wants to be with Bethany, to channel his love and future with her, but sometimes mistakes come back to bite you,’ Brooks hinted, teasing fallout from past decisions.
The dynamic between Bethany and Daisy will also bring the drama. ‘The rivalry is fantastic and so fun to watch,’ Brooks said. ‘It feels so nice and soapy, which is exactly what we want for that story.’
With no clear heroes or villains, the storyline explores three people striving for happiness, no matter the cost. Brooks promised, ‘Lots of drama, lots of relationship drama, and as always, we’ll be wondering what the heck Daniel is going to do next.’
