Home and Away airs on 5STAR at 6:30pm
Remi is keeping a watchful eye over Sonny whilst he’s on shift at Salt. Sonny implores him to get off his back, but Remi doesn’t take no for an answer. When Justin comes in and asks Remi for a beer, Sonny encourages him, and Remi finally concedes to give him some space. Remi goes to have a beer with Justin back at his house, and Leah is happy for the company, so she asks Remi to stay for dinner. Over dinner, they follow up with Remi on the status of Eden’s condition, and he confesses that she’s not in the best shape – she really needs a donor.
After dinner, Leah peels off to bed and leaves them to chat. Justin gives Remi some advice – Sonny can look after himself… It sounds like Eden needs him more than anyone. The next day, Sonny is surprised when Remi is way less overbearing… Sonny asks Justin if their beer the previous day had anything to do with that, and Justin tells him Remi was using Sonny as a crutch to avoid his powerlessness in the face of Eden’s condition. Sonny then approaches Remi and decides to turn the tables by reaching out – it’s Sonny’s turn to be there for him.
Richie arrives at Abigail’s place, where she’s called him to discuss their future. Abigail is eager to discuss where they stand after Richie revealed that he’s been thinking about her non-stop. Abigail tells him that the feelings are reciprocal, but things were just so messy when he left that she had to pull the breaks. Richie suggests they try again but take it slow – starting with a dinner at Salt. Abigail agrees and they head to Salt, only to run into Lacey.
Lacey is shocked to see Richie and Abigail together, she doesn’t hold back on giving it to both of them, so they abandon their dinner plans. Richie apologises to Abigail for not foreseeing that they might run into people… Abigail tells him to go home – she owes Lacey an explanation and she needs to be alone to do that because Richie is too triggering for her.
When Abigail returns to Salt to talk to Lacey, she shuts her down – if she’s in communication with Richie, then they can’t have a friendship. The next morning, Abigail finds Richie sleeping on her porch, he wanted to be sure she was okay after she didn’t return his messages. Despite Lacey’s disapproval they are both still very smitten with each other.
Amelia and David catch up at the motel where David is eager to set aside his work troubles for some quality time with her. He checks in with her about her day, and she tells him that she met up with Levi who was looking for a referral for a hand surgeon, but she neglects to mention that the issue of her temporary work position came up. That night, she can’t sleep, so she researches available positions in the area, to no avail.
The next morning, David asks her about her late-night research… She lies that she was just doing some work. After he leaves to work, Amelia calls Levi and asks if they can talk. Then, she meets with Lacey who reveals that Richie’s back and she needs her help keeping him away from David. But it’s too late because David runs into Richie and Abigail at the Surf Club, and he’s triggered at the sight of him, immediately walking in the opposite direction.
Richie is relieved – that didn’t go as badly as he thought. He talks with Abigail about their relationship status, and whether she can bare the judgement of being with him… Abigail tells him she can handle it, what she can’t handle is having her heart broken again…
