Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks has shared her excitement for what’s in store, promising plenty of drama, surprises, and a focus on Weatherfield’s biggest families.

Speaking about the upcoming storylines, Kate said: ‘So I am genuinely, not just as a producer, but as a fan, I’m dead excited about what’s coming up because all the stories are just on fire. And it feels like we’ve got all the big clans in place.’

Fans of the Platts are in for a treat as Kate confirmed they will feature heavily. She continued: ‘We’ve got the Platts are going to feature really heavily. We’ve got the Websters, again, big clan, building that clan, seeing those dynamics. The Connors, you know, with Lisa, Carla, Betsy, and Ryan, building that, building the factory, you know, and we’ve got lots coming up, which I think is going to be really, really exciting.’

Kate hinted at jaw-dropping twists, ensuring viewers stay on their toes: ‘My vision is making sure that we keep people engaged and keep people entertained and keep people guessing because we don’t want people to become complacent. You know, we want to pull the rug sometimes from underneath the carpet.’

With the promise of unexpected moments, Kate teased: ‘Just as the audience is at home with a cup of tea, settling down for Corrie with the digestives, things will happen that they did not expect.’

Coronation Street continues at 8:00pm on Monday
