Harper has a contraction. Tane wakes and calls Levi, who rushes to the hospital. Levi explains the risks around neo-natal intensive care if the baby were born this early and they administer an injection to stop the contractions. During the tense period of anticipation waiting for the medication to kick in, Tane comforts Harper. He wants to move in together to help take care of her. The doctor comes in and tells them the good news – no contractions! Harper and Tane rejoice, closer than ever in the face of another baby scare.

Remi is trying to get a hold of Eden, who has denounced their friendship, but runs into Justin instead who tells him that news is getting around of Cash’s arrest. Remi tells Justin he saw Cash and Tim arguing the night before Tim was hospitalised and relayed his misgivings towards Cash to the police. Justin reacts strongly in defence of Cash, reminding him that police officers don’t do too well in prison. Justin comes to understand Remi’s trepidation towards Cash, and Remi’s made aware of the severe consequences his confession might have towards Cash.

Mali and Abigail sneak around the house, keeping their romance under wraps. Abigail is reluctant to put a label on things despite Mali’s want for clarity. They cover when Mackenzie and Levi arrive and catch them together. Luckily, Mackenzie is preoccupied by the news of Harper’s contractions, but the seed has been planted…and she corners Mali, forcing a confession. Mackenzie explodes – not only did he promise not to go there, but there’s a laundry list of reasons why it’s a terrible idea – she’s Levi’s sister, Mali’s her boss and Abigail’s still in recovery. Mali retorts – he likes Abigail, and he makes her happy. He asks Mackenzie to stay out of this, and not say anything to Levi… she reluctantly agrees. Mali recounts this conversation to Abigail, who chastises Mali. What will she tell her brother if he were to find out? In that exact moment, Kirby tells them the news of Tim being in hospital. Abigail jumps to accusing Nerida. Mali convinces her to wait for the verdict before jumping to conclusions. Abby submits, but when he’s gone, she goes behind his back and contacts Nerida…
