Joe’s fearful as the harassment campaign against him culminates in an envelope containing a blackmail demand for £100,000 being placed in the kitchen at Home Farm. Unsure of who else to trust, Joe shows the blackmail demand to Sam Dingle but he’s none-the-wiser as to who left it there. Soon Joe suspects his fearless henchman Shaun could be behind this and sacks him for disloyalty. Shaun turns on him threateningly, however gun-toting Sam appears in the nick of time.
After talking things through with Sam, Joe decides to get away and later tells Dawn he’s got a short notice departure for a business trip.But just as he’s ready to go he gets knocked out cold by a shovel-wielding Shaun. Woozy and disorientated, Joe awakens in a makeshift hospital room to a menacing Crowley looming over him.
