In the way that fans consume their dose of soaps it’s all change for S4C and Pobol y Cwm and Rownd a Rownd make the switch to a stream-first format.


From Tuesday, 6 January, at 10:00 on the morning of each broadcast, full episodes of both soap operas will be available online on S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer.
However, cccasionally, some special episodes featuring major storylines and important revelations will be held back for the evening television broadcast to avoid any spoilers for fans.
Eastieoaks.com will continue to follow the pattern of on-air broadcast regardless of the time that episodes are on streaming services.
S4C’s Chief Executive, Geraint Evans said: ‘We are very aware that the viewing habits of our audiences are changing, and although there is still a significant amount of live viewing for Pobol y Cwm and Rownd a Rownd on their initial television broadcast, both soaps are also among the most popular series on S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer. This step to make them available digitally first therefore allows viewers to stream and enjoy them whenever and wherever is convenient for them.’
Branwen Williams, Senior Producer of Pobol y Cwm also said: ‘Having Pobol y Cwm available on S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer from early in the morning will mean our fans can get their drama fix while enjoying their toast and coffee. It gives them the power to watch whenever they want.’
