Home and Away airs on 5STAR at 6:30pm

Sonny and Dana are together and Sonny can see that Dana’s got something on her mind. Dana is indeed ruminating on the secret that John Palmer let slip that he ran some DIY tests on Sonny’s legs after he thought he felt them move. Dana confronts him as to why he didn’t open up to her about this. Sonny downplays it – he was just imagining things. Dana asks what his specialist thought, but the only prognosis he got was from John Palmer, who is anything but a neuro-doctor. Sonny hedges, he was busy taking care of Remi throughout his life-threatening surgery. Dana pushes him to go see a specialist now that his friend has had a successful surgery. So together, they go to see Dr Swan, who in her characteristically straight forward manner lays Sonny’s path forward down with sobering realism. Sonny can’t bear any more false hope, and so he walks out on their meeting early. Dana, adept at making doctor’s bend to her will, convinces Dr Swan do a house call. Dr Swan gets it through to Sonny that he can either work on his recovery – or do nothing and have no recovery at all.

Lacey’s meeting with her lawyer ran over, but she still turns up to work at the Surf Club for some much-needed distraction. Abigail is there, dropping off some food for Mali, and she chimes in decrying that the system has failed Lacey and that they should push for change. Mali privately berates Abigail to stop putting ideas of systemic change in Lacey’s head when what she needs the most right now is a friend. Abigail is undeterred by Mali and later she proposes to Leah that they reach out to a journalist to spotlight this issue to aid future victims. Much to Mali’s chagrin, Abigail speaks to a journalist, and she doesn’t even run it by Lacey. Mali confronts her, but Abigail doubles down that Mali doesn’t know how it feels to be silenced in the way women like Lacey have been. The next morning, though, she sees the front cover of the Coastal News… the journalist published an inflammatory headline, incriminating Lacey.

Levi continues to interrogate Mackenzie about her involvement in Tane’s disappearance. She is backed into a corner and confesses that not only was it her idea for Tane to run, but she helped him do it. He accuses her of aiding and abetting – not only is it a breach in the law but she’s jeopardising their future as a family. Mackenzie panics and reaches for her phone to warn Tane of Cash’s imminent arrival, but Levi is incensed that she won’t listen to him and storms out. The next day, Mackenzie is getting a baby scan at the hospital, and Levi is a no show, not responding to her texts. As the ultrasound is underway and Mackenzie is about to see their baby for the first time, he runs through the door, intent that the first time they see it they be together. The tension between them thaws at the sight of a healthy baby, and they decide to postpone their differences for another day.
