Emmerdale airs at 8pm on ITV1

Kerry and Archie attempt another scam on Caleb, using ‘AI Steph ‘ but are caught in the act when Pollard walks in on them. He confronts them and Kerry feels terrible. Elsewhere it dawns on Caleb he’s been scammed out of the five grand he previously sent to ‘Steph’. Caleb’s humiliated to have been so easily scammed.

When Ruby mentions that the scammer knew a private detail about Laurel and Ross, Caleb decides to call the police as he vows revenge on whoever did this. Kerry does her best to talk Pollard out of calling the police, using his own dodgy past to encourage him to let this one go. Pollard instructs Archie to delete all evidence from the laptop.

Manpreet checks on a numb Charity, who lies that her breakdown is postnatal depression. Manpreet prescribes medication and leaves Charity feeling utterly alone in her new lie. When Mack returns, Charity is upset to learn he has told Sarah about her troubles, and once alone she washes some sleeping pills down with wine.

Cain tells Kyle that he’s proud of him, and Kyle is thrilled when Cain asks to come to the swearing in ceremony.

When Ruby spots Kerry’s counterfeit purse, Kerry and Pollard are nervous that she’s piecing together their involvement in the scam. Later, Caleb tells Billy he intends to regain his lost ‘edge’ by starting a counterfeit goods operation suggesting that the depot would be the perfect place to run the operation. He tries to sway Billy with a percentage cut, which leaves Billy seriously considering.

Taking the Army Cadet oath, Kyle looks out for his father’s support but is visibly disappointed when he sees his chair is empty. Cain bursts into the Woolpack toilets, horrified at the wet patch on his trousers. He is mortified and immediately hides in a cubicle. Charles enters and sees his situation then returns with a pair of clean trousers and hands them under the cubicle door to a humiliated Cain who finally accepts the help. Still reeling from the embarrassment of his incontinence. Charles and Bob try to comfort Cain and assure him of their discretion.

They encourage him to be brave and return to the ceremony. Cain returns and awkwardly confesses his accident to Kyle, apologising for missing the swearing-in. Kyle reassures his dad that he wasn’t embarrassed and is just pleased that he came back. Later, Cain confesses to Moira his fear that his health issues are making him “less of a man.” Moira passionately reassures him that facing his fears makes him stronger.

Sarah feels guilty, believing her gran’s presumed postnatal depression is a result of being her surrogate, and desperately wants to know more when Charity suggests there’s “more going on”. Charity struggles to share her real pain, deflecting the conversation back to PND and her lack of sleep. Mack later consoles a distraught Sarah who sobs, blaming the surrogacy for all Charity’’s emotional pain.
