Emmerdale airs at 8pm on ITV1

Kev changes his name to ‘Barton’ to bond with Lewis, but is frustrated when he doesn’t get through to his son. Later, Kev explains his tragic past and vows never to go back to prison, stating he changed his name to protect Lewis from the ‘Townsend’ name. When Ross walks in and orders Kev to leave, Lewis intervenes, telling Ross he wants to give Kev a chance. Ross warns Kev about consequences if he hurts Lewis.

Later, while Kev is enjoying a pint with Lewis and Vinny, Nicola confronts him, and they stare daggers at each other. Ross tells Manpreet that it is only a matter of time until Kev makes a mistake and gets himself banished. A mysterious figure breaks into the cafe and steals the cash box.

Collecting Monty from the vets, Cain takes him off on a walk to decide what to do.  Cain realises the irony in how much he wants to help Monty but yet won’t help himself in the same scenario, he’s left pondering his words.
