Coronation Street is on location in Bolton filming court scenes as Sarah Platt is set to stand trial for Theo’s murder in the coming weeks.
Also spotted on set during the shoot are Carla (Alison King), Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers), David (Jack P Shepherd), Shona and Bethany Platt (Julia Goulding and Lucy Fallon).
Scenes airing this week reveal Kit filling Bethany in on Theo’s murder and where Gary’s involvement comes in. Bethany is not so keen with the plan to pin the guilt on him but Kit reminds her that Harry needs his mum.
Speaking in the aftermath of the reveal, Tina O’Brien shared how Sarah would cope if she was sent to prison: ‘I would be very worried for her. She might appear to be a “soft touch” to hard criminals and I worry she’d get into problems in there – especially if they found out she had a partner who was a police officer’.
As for Gary in the situation ‘Again she just feels incredibly guilty, like it’s all her fault. For the first time, she’s also feeling a bit frustrated with Gary. She has always felt really supported by him, but now she’s wondering why he didn’t just tell her to go to the police instead of taking the burden himself.’
