Corrie airs at 8.30pm on ITV1
This is the dramatic moment when Coronation Street’s ‘single white female’ Jodie Ramsey proves she will stop at nothing to steal her sister’s life.
After months of mind games and manipulation we see a desperate Jodie pointing a gun at David and Shona when Shona confronts her about her obsession with her husband and family.
Convinced it is a replica, the pair challenge her, but the situation spirals into chaos and a gunshot rings out. As the dust settles, one person lies stricken and the family is left reeling in horror. But who has been shot?
Jodie actress Olivia Frances Brown teased the filming of the drama and the aftermath, saying: ‘It was so exciting! It’s not every day at work that someone brings out a real weapon – with a professional gun handler on set to show you how to use it safely. When I read the script, I knew it could truly be anyone getting shot.’
She also promised ‘comeuppance’, saying: ‘It’s definitely been a long time coming for it to blow up between Jodie and Shona. Let’s just say… somebody is about to get their comeuppance and you’ll just need to watch to find out.’
Jodie has stepped up her campaign to destroy her sister Shona’s (Julia Goulding) life as she bids to win the affection of her brother-in-law, David (Jack P. Shepherd).
Explaining Jodie’s extreme obsession with her sister, Olivia revealed: ‘She idolises Shona so much that she literally wants to step into her shoes, take over her life, and know what that feels like. By taking over David, the house, the role with Harper – she genuinely wants to know how it feels to be Shona.’
Viewers saw her switch her father Doug’s psychosis medication when she realised he was onto her, resulting in him being taken back to a secure mental health unit.
In Thursday night’s (October 8th) episode, Jodie will go all out to try and seduce David and it seems she has finally turned his head when shocked Shona arrives.
Is it all over for Shona and David or has Jodie’s luck finally run out?
