David starts his community service at Jamila house when Bily drops in to see him the other offenders are less than impressed he is friends with a vicar. David calls in the cafe and stuns Shona by getting down on one knee and proposing.

David is upset when Shona won’t give him an answer. She tells him the time isn’t right until he is stronger. Billy is shocked when he visits the community centre to find David and a fellow offender who are decorating the place, making homophobic jibes about him (Billy). When the other man leaves Billy tackles David but is shocked by his reaction.

Billy is shocked when David breaks down and tells him about the rape. Billy suggests he go for counselling and David thanks him for listening.
