Mel is in full preparation mode for her wedding next week and refuses to let Ray distract her from her goal to bring him down. Things look set to fall apart however when Mel meets Maddie who admits she’s having doubts about their plan. Can Mel convince Maddie to help her?
Over at the Taylor’s, Karen questions why everyone is so miserable and tries to cheer up both Keegan and Keanu. Meanwhile, Bernadette agrees to meet Tiffany that afternoon, but when Tiffany bumps into Evie, she’s persuaded to go to a party instead. Later, as Bernadette waits for Tiffany, she’s left heartbroken when she realises Tiffany isn’t coming.
Kim decides to have another Christmas for her family and suggests to a reluctant Denise that they invite Phil over to thank him. As Phil refuses the invitation, Ray arrives with a surprising request. With the tension close to breaking point, Phil is quick to send Ray on his way leaving Ray to make a mysterious phone call. Ray soon returns with a worrying ultimatum for Phil. With today’s events on his mind, Phil takes Kim up on her offer and he and Dennis join the family for dinner. As he goes to leave, Phil is touched when Kim gives him a present. Meanwhile, Kim decides on a name for the baby.
Bernice is furious when she sees the Salon decorated for her 50th. Despite Nicola’s best efforts to convince her otherwise, Bernice is adamant that her age is going to be a problem when it comes to her and Liam’s relationship. Then, just as Bernice believes she’s got away with keeping her age a secret, she’s shocked….
Victoria is pleased, yet jealous when Matty reveals that he’s managed to get a date.
Carla advises Gail to play Lewis at his own game so later, Gail slips her hand in his coat pocket, steals his diary and notes his next few appointments. Making out he’s got a hair appointment, Lewis slips out of the pub. Gail follows Lewis to a posh hotel and watches in anger as he wines and dines a glamorous, middle-aged lady. Having followed Lewis and his lady friend upstairs, a furious Gail manages to take a sneaky picture of them as they enter their hotel bedroom.
Peter takes ownership of the old snooker club on Victoria Street but Kirk warns him he read it’s haunted. Dev decides to play a trick on him and enlists the help of Kirk. Dev leads a nervous Kirk into the snooker hall and produces some chalk.
Gail tells Nick about the incriminating photo, only to find she took a selfie by mistake. Gail breaks the news to Audrey that she followed Lewis who met with another woman and urges Nick to transfer Audrey’s inheritance to a new account where Lewis can’t get to it. Over dinner in the bistro, Audrey confronts Lewis
In the snooker hall, Peter and Simon find snooker cues in pentangles on the floor and ‘666’ scrawled on the wall in chalk.
Elsewhere Toyah and Imran take Rana to a gay bar in town in an attempt to cheer her up. When Rana bumps into Kate’s ex, Imogen and reveals that she and Kate have split up, it’s clear Imogen fancies her chances.
