This week in Shieldinch… Amber struggles to grieve on the day of her mother’s funeral while Lenny’s grief mounts; Sonny’s two-timing ways catch up with him, and Alex is baited by an unlikely visitor behind bars.
With grief overwhelming her, Amber struggles to cope on the day of Lydia’s funeral. Lou senses her distress but Amber makes the decision not to attend the ceremony preferring, instead, to numb her emotions with drugs.
While the Shieldinch community come out in force to say their farewells to Lydia, Amber hides away. Lou takes it upon herself to get Amber to see sense and confront her grief.
Meanwhile, Lenny’s guilt overwhelms him privately and he starts seeing visions of Lydia, goading him from the grave.
Elsewhere, Bernie’s a woman scorned after discovering Sonny has been playing the field with both her and Suzie. While Suzie’s embarrassed by Sonny’s two-timing, Bernie plots a very public humiliation for the Shieldinch lothario.
Alex is devastated to learn his request to attend Lydia’s funeral has been declined. However, DCI Grant makes a surprise visit to the prison offering Alex a chance to visit the funeral home where Lydia’s body is in rest. Poppy suspects she has an ulterior motive and Alex soon discovers, she’s right.
