MONDAY 9TH MARCH 1st EPISODE

GARY GIVES DR ALI A TASTE OF HIS OWN MEDICINE Sharon calls at the furniture shop to pick up Rick’s old client list. In return, Gary asks Sharon to teach Ali a lesson. What has he got planned? Craig attends a wellness checkup with Ali when the doctor suddenly collapses. Toyah and Dr Gaddas rush to his aid and Toyah reluctantly reveals that he might have taken an overdose of diazepam. Maria and Gary watch in horror as Ali is loaded into an ambulance.

JAMES HAS QUESTIONS TO ANSWER At The Weatherfield Golden Hearts Awards Aggie collects her award and delivers a heartfelt speech. Ed, Michael and James look on proudly. When a reporter approaches James and reveals that there are rumours about his sexuality circulating on social media, James is utterly floored. Insisting that he’s not gay, James hurries away, masking his panic. Having returned home and clearly upset, James explains to Ed and Aggie how Danny has inadvertently outed him on social media and as a result his career is ruined.

THE BAT SOCIETY DOESN’T LIKE HANGING OUT WITH NINA Roy hosts a meeting with fellow bat watchers, Herman, Dave and Farooq. When he introduces Nina, they’re horrified by her attire and deeply suspicious of her motives.

ELSEWHERE Craig and Imran set off for their run but they don’t get very far before Imran admits he hates running and he’s off to the cinema instead. Ken and Claudia return from their visit to the luxury retirement complex. Claudia is keen to move in as soon as possible while Ken has his reservations.

MONDAY 9TH MARCH 2nd EPISODE

GARY’S REVENGE GOES TOO FAR A terrified Gary leaves a message for Sharon telling her that if Ali dies, she’s to blame. Maria calls at the hospital for news of Ali. An angry Ryan blames her for playing him off against Gary. Toyah confesses to Imran how she’s been helping Ali kick his habit, she lied on his behalf when his missed his tribunal and as a result, she might have jeopardised her career. Ali regains consciousness. When Ryan reveals that he took an overdose of diazepam, Ali’s confused and swears blind that’s not the case. Ryan’s disbelieving.

JAMES FINDS AN UNEXPECTED ALLY Michael confirms that Danny has taken down his original message, but James points out that it’s too late. A furious James confronts Danny who insists that it was an accident and he never meant to cause trouble. But James bitterly points out that he should have been able to come out on his own terms but thanks to him, that’s now impossible. When James receives a text from his manager summoning him to a meeting with a County press officer, he fears the worst.

ROY REALISES HIS FRIENDS ARE DINGBATS When Nina presents her homemade bat boxes to the group, Herman, Dave and Farooq are begrudgingly impressed whilst Roy is proud of her efforts. When the bat watchers make derogatory remarks about Nina’s dress sense, Roy takes umbrage and resigns from the group. Brian steps down too out of solidarity.

ELSEWHERE When Ken reveals that he and Claudia plan to move into ‘Stillwaters’ in a few days’ time, an excited Tracy starts planning a makeover for No.1 while Peter wonders where he and Simon are going to live.

WEDNESDAY 11TH MARCH 1st EPISODE

ALI RESORTS TO DESPERATE MEASURES Ali assures Ryan that he didn’t take any diazepam and that Gary, or someone hired by Gary, must have spiked his drink. Ryan’s convinced Ali’s in denial. Convinced that Gary is trying to kill him, Ali resolves to prove it. Ryan despairs. Spotting Ali sitting in his car, Maria climbs into the passenger seat and quizzes him about his overdose. Maria’s horrified when Ali locks her in and tells her how he suspects Gary spiked his drink. As Maria pulls fruitlessly at the door handle, Ali starts the car.

ALYA REALISES GEOFF IS HER HARSHEST CRITIC When Alya spots the same spelling mistake in the new menus Geoff has done as in some of the bad reviews on line it finally dawns in it that it was Geoff all along. Sick of being cooped up in the house, Yasmeen reckons it’s time she returned to work. But Geoff’s quick to dissuade her and suggests she cooks him a nice lunch at home instead. As Yasmeen and Geoff sit down to lunch, Alya marches in and presenting them with the evidence, suggests Geoff is the author of the nasty online reviews.

JAMES TAKES MATTERS INTO HIS OWN HANDS When Aggie reveals that they’ve had several calls from newspapers wanting to get his side of the story, James is beside himself. The County Manager and Press Officer call at No.3 to discuss his options promising that he has their full support.

NINA FEELS LEFT OUT When an excited Nina tells Carla how they’re meeting the group later to put up the bat boxes, Roy lies and tells her the meeting’s cancelled. Nina’s hugely disappointed. Having discovered the bat meeting hasn’t been cancelled at all, Nina wonders if Roy’s ashamed to be seen with her.

WEDNESDAY 11TH MARCH 2nd EPISODE

JAMES PLEADS THE FIFTH James lies to his Manager and Press Officer and assures them he’s not gay. The Press Officer advises him that if that’s the case, he’d be best to say nothing. James joins his family in the pub and reveals that he told his Manager that he’s not gay. Ed’s relieved whilst Aggie and Michael worry that he’s living a lie.

ALI FIGHTS FOR THE TRUTH A terrified Maria begs him to stop but Ali continues to drive the car erratically. When he finally stops and lets her out Maria returns home and hugging Gary tight, tells him about her terrible ordeal and how Ali reckons it was him that spiked his drink. How will Gary react?

YASMEEN’S STUCK IN THE MIDDLE Geoff denies that he’s responsible for the nasty and to Alya’s annoyance, Yasmeen sides with Geoff and insists he would never write nasty reviews about his own restaurant. Geoff points out to Alya that it’s clear they can’t work together and suggests she sells her share of the business to him and Yasmeen. Alya tells him where he can stick his suggestion.

ELSEWHERE Nina confronts Roy who admits he was simply trying to spare her feelings. Having stacked the bat boxes in the Woodie, Roy and Nina head off for an evening’s bat watching. Ken calls on Steve and Tracy with a view to delaying the sale of No.1. However their excitement is evident and Ken can’t bring himself to let them down.

FRIDAY 13TH MARCH

ALYA FEELS PUSHED OUT Geoff makes out to Yasmeen that Alya is out to get him, the girl is an idiot and as a result, he’s going to see a business advisor to find out where they stand. Meanwhile Alya finds numerous cash withdrawals from the Speed Daal accounts. Geoff lies to Yasmeen that he has seen a business advisor and suggests they should sell up and move abroad. Geoff tells Yasmeen that she deserves a better life abroad but When Yasmeen voices her reservations, Geoff twists her words and suggests she’s having doubts about their marriage leaving Yasmeen upset. In the Rovers, Alya shares her concerns about Yasmeen with Ryan and when Eileen reveals that Geoff once locked Yasmeen in his magic box and went out, Alya’s horrified. Yasmeen denies it was Geoff’s fault and says Geoff loves her very much.

ALI FEARS THERE IS NOTHING LEFT FOR HIM Gary convinces Maria that he did nothing to provoke Ali and that the guy is a maniac. Ali laments to Ryan how rubbish his life is. Ali confides in Ryan that he can’t stand by and watch Maria throwing her life away on Gary any longer so he’s leaving today. Ryan’s shocked. In the Rovers’ backyard, Ali explains to Maria that he’s leaving as he needs to start afresh. They wish each other well and Ali’s pleased to have cleared the air. Ali calls the builder’s yard flat and after apologising to Toyah for all the trouble he caused her, explains that he’s leaving Weatherfield. Toyah wishes him well. After exchanging an emotional farewell with Ryan, Ali leaves the street.

KEN PREPARES TO SAY GOODBYE TO THE STREET Audrey worries that Ken is being railroaded into moving to Stillwaters against his will. At No.1, an emotional Ken sits with Eccles on his lap and reflects on the happy times they’ve spent together. Tracy’s concerned to see him so melancholy. Peter, Carla, Simon and Tracy help Ken with the last of his things from No.1. Picking up Deirdre’s peanut bowls, Ken takes a last wistful look round the living room and heads out. Ken and Claudia move into Stillwaters and are immediately made to feel welcome by fellow resident, Charles Lake.

TOYAH HAS A NEW CAREER PLAN Imran puts pressure on Toyah to find a new job and suggests she’d make a great PA. When Nina clocks Toyah applying for a job at Heywoods, she points they have a terrible reputation, so much so she took part in a protest against them and chained herself to the railings. Toyah admits to Imran that after a chat with Nina she decided against the Heywoods Job.

GEMMA NEEDS HER MUM Gemma attends storytime at Speed Daal with the quads. But she’s so exhausted she falls asleep and a couple of the other mums gently take the babies from her. Gemma wakes with a start and is upset to realise what happened. With storytime over, Gemma chats to the other mums. Vanessa reckons she could do with some help looking after four babies giving Gemma food for thought. Gemma leaves a voicemail for Bernie but can’t bring herself to admit that she’s desperate for some help and simply makes out she was phoning for a chat.
