The Deceived spoilers: Episode Three

A compelling, sinister narrative of lust, manipulation and betrayal, the central character in The Deceived is English student Ophelia (Emily Reid – Belgravia, Curfew), who falls in love with her married lecturer, seeing in him all the answers to her needs. When their affair is interrupted by a shocking and tragic death, Ophelia finds herself trapped in a world where she can no longer trust her own mind.

As her obsession with Roisin deepens, Ophelia begins to fear that Michael is not telling her everything, and she feels haunted by signs of the dead woman wherever she goes. Ruth’s investigations in Cambridge reach Ireland with the arrival of a mysterious stranger, and Ophelia has to finally face up to whether she is losing her mind as Michael claims or, as she suspects, something more sinister is afoot.
