Seeking a fresh start for their marriage, British woman Anna and her Australian husband, Jake, move down under with their two small children. With Anna resuming her career, they hire a young live-in nanny to help… but local girl Becky is anything but the innocent stranger she pretends to be.
Noticing secretive behaviour in Jake, fragile Anna befriends Becky and reveals her suspicion that he’s having an affair with his attractive new PA. Seemingly supportive, Becky encourages Anna to confront the woman, which Anna does in spectacular, public style. But Jake can explain everything, leaving Anna humiliated and vowing to never doubt him again.
As time passes, Becky begins to question her situation. A cat and mouse game ensues, with Becky unsure of who to believe. Ultimately, she sides with Jake and recommits to his plan, but little do they know Anna has one of her own.
Charlie Brooks stars as Anna and Brett Tucker as Jake. Lie With Me airs on Channel 5 and begins at 9pm on Monday 12 July over 4 nights.
