Monday 4th April 2022

Meena’s determined to walk free from her crimes and put on a show in court at the same time. Manpreet decides to testify, she accepts Ethan’s offer to help her prepare for court and bravely resolves to face her fears. The news seeps into prison as Meena’s all fired-up and ready to put on a show-stopping performance in court, excited by the opportunity to publicly destroy her sister.

Kim’s thrilled she’s convinced Hazel to bring Millie to the christening.

Vanessa bumps into Suzy

Moira’s concerned about Nate’s wellbeing when she finds him and Ryan very drunk early in the afternoon.

Tuesday 5th April 2022

Manpreet wonders what Meena’s planning when she hears that Wendy has been called as a witness for the defence. Bravely preparing to take the stand, Manpreet enlists Ethan’s help as she braces herself for the defence’s interrogation.

Later, Kim’s enraged to hear that Millie’s too poorly to attend the christening. Suspicious of Hazel’s intentions, Kim prepares to battle Gabby to delay the christening for when Millie’s recovered. Overwhelmed with emotion, Arthur’s thrilled when Gabby asks him to be Thomas’ godfather.

Vanessa’s secretly pleased to have secured a dinner with Suzy.

Wednesday 6th April 2022

Manpreet and Wendy are worried about taking the stand and discuss the pressure of their roles in the upcoming trial.

At Home Farm, Lydia and Will are caught between a feuding Kim and Gabby as they argue over the date of Thomas’ christening. After much debate, Gabby and Kim reveal that they’ve agreed to hold the christening tomorrow but Gabby has an extra surprise for Kim.

Nate’s embarrassed that Chloe stayed the night at his and tries to dodge her attempts to spend more time together. Noah catches Chloe on Main Street, heading home from Nate’s. When she refuses to go for a drink with him, he’s angered by the lack of reward for his apology.

Belle voices her dissatisfaction with her work at the B&B as she begins to dream bigger. Al’s impressed by her vigour as he receives yet another job rejection.

Thursday 7th April 2022

The day of the long-awaited christening finally arrives but soon Gabby has a shock.

Al pays a little too much attention to Belle’s ideas.

A foul-tempered Nate snaps at Chloe as she flirtatiously teases him at Butlers Farm. When Chloe enquires about working on the farm, Nate worries that his secrets may be about to unravel.

Nate firmly rejects Chloe’s advances, aware that things have gone too far already. Chloe’s upset to have been so savagely rejected. Chloe bumps into Noah. The atmosphere between the pair thaws as Noah does his best to lift her spirits. Chloe’s heartened by their interaction whilst Noah slyly resolves to play his cards carefully.

Friday 8th April 2022

In her prison cell, Meena’s grateful for the chocolate bar a prison officer slips her. She’s pleased to see the charm offensive pay off as she also receives a smuggled newspaper from him later that day. Finally capturing the world’s attention, Meena’s delighted to see herself on the front cover. Meena savours the thought of facing her sister tomorrow in court.

Monday 11th April 2022

The village are on tenterhooks as the trial commences. Tension spikes when Meena enters the courtroom, basking in the spotlight. Back in Emmerdale, the villagers try to distract themselves from the ongoing trial. At the trial, The jury appears sympathetic to Liam’s devastation as he fights tears on the stand but as the defence begin their onslaught of accusations. Liam’s blindsided when he’s accused of conducting an affair with Meena. Aggravated by her feigned vulnerability, Liam’s rage gets the better of him when he lashes out at Meena. Soon Liam worries his outburst may have lost him the support of the jury.

It’s Rhona’s birthday and April’s determined to make it special and successfully pulls off a surprise birthday party for Rhona in the Woolpack. Rhona is aware she had promised to visit Marlon, so Chas volunteers Cain to take her place so she can enjoy the party for April’s sake. After a while, Rhona’s eager to see Marlon. When April begs to come with her, a guilty Rhona lies to April but privately resolves to fight her case with her dad. In hospital Marlon’s guilty when Rhona tells him how much April misses visiting him, pushing for April to visit again.

Tuesday 12th April 2022

The next day, although she dreads the day ahead of her, Manpreet’s resolute in her determination to destroy her sister in court. Meanwhile in prison, prison officer Ian’s conflicted when against his better instincts, he finds himself flirting with Meena. Once in court, Manpreet refuses to let Meena’s performance rattle her as she takes the stand to testify against her sister. It’s a tough ordeal as the defence delves deep into Manpreet’s past and attempts to portray her as a seasoned liar. Manpreet’s infuriated to see her gloating sister relishing the spectacle. Later, Meena’s high spirits are dampened when she’s advised against taking the stand. Eager to allow her ego the limelight, Meena rejects this advice and excitedly prepares for tomorrow.

When she visits him in hospital, April’s matter-of-fact humour relaxes Marlon and Rhona’s moved to tears to see how maturely April deals with Marlon’s vulnerability.

Wednesday 13th April 2022

Meena rehearses her lines in her cell. Soon, Meena’s utterly convincing as she takes the stand in court, playing the part of a meek victim. She delivers the performance of a lifetime to an enthralled jury.

Bear visits Marlon in hospital as exhausted Rhona is feeling the pressure and bottles her emotions in a bid to remain strong for her family.

Belle begins her journey in meditation teacher training, hopeful for a future beyond the B&B.

Thursday 14th April 2022

Later, Awaiting the verdict, the court’s consumed in agonising tension…

Al apologies and Belle agrees to a partnership with Al. Soon Belle establishes some ground rules with Al as they embark on their partnership. He is impressed by her savviness.

Marlon’s delighted to see some progress as he utters a complete sentence for the first time since his stroke.

The next day Paddy notices Rhona is struggling being a mum while visiting Marlon. Paddy visits him and on returning Rhona explains her plans to get him home soon. She is delighted to hear Paddy’s got a plan up his sleeve to cheer Marlon.

Monday 18th April 2022

Paddy sets up an Easter egg hunt and Marlon watches via video, Rhona’s grateful to Paddy.

Chas warns Belle against Al worried Al’s got ulterior motives.

Noah goes to great lengths with Chloe buying her gig tickets.

Worried about the way Samson treated Cathy, Lydia’s orchestrates a ‘birds and the bees’ chat between Sam and his son.

Tuesday 19th April 2022

Rhona’s shocked by how much yesterday’s activity has taken out of Marlon, hoping his exhaustion won’t impact his consultancy meeting. Mary confides in Faith over the stress Rhona’s under, worrying how she will cope as a full-time carer. Meanwhile, the consultant assures a gutted Marlon, although she’s pleased with his progress, he’s in the best place possible. Rhona presses the consultant for a timeline on his recovery. When Rhona arrives home she lashes out to see Mary with Faith in the pub. After her outburst, Mary worries Marlon’s move home will only increase Rhona’s exhaustion and urges her to consider the impact on herself and the kids. Rhona’s horrified by her suggestion of a separation and throws Mary out appalled at her mother’s insensitivity.

When Chas relays her doubts about Al and Belle to Kerry it starts to add up for Kerry wondering if Chas could be right.

Wednesday 20th April 2022

The next day, as Al and Belle enthusiastically regale their business plans, Al notices Priya’s upset. When he questions her she opens up about her body confidence issues which leads to a charged moment where they lean in for a kiss…

Vanessa accepts an invitation to dinner. But her world is thrown into chaos when she spills wine over her phone and with Jonny sick has no way of calling Suzy to cancel.

Dan is concerned about Amelia’s internet usage and newfound interest in influencers; his friends devise strategies to help. But will Dan’s efforts backfire?

Thursday 21st April 2022

Soon Kerry notices Al constantly checking his phone and her suspicions pique. Meanwhile, Al and Priya agree their encounter shouldn’t have happened and decide to keep it between themselves… but an eavesdropping Cain overhears and has other ideas. Meanwhile, Kerry digs for dirt on Al and Belle and heads to confront the wrong pair as they are conducting a meeting with a wellness influencer. Later, in the Woolpack, Cain is nursing a pint when Kerry arrives and he deliberately lets slip about Al and Priya’s rekindled spark. Ballistic Kerry throws a pint over Al during his resurrected business meeting. Carrie the client backs out of the business deal, leaving Belle devastated. Seeing a smug Cain watching the spectacle from the bar, Al realises who leaked his secret. Later on Main Street, the men draw battle lines – war.

Kim demands, in order to keep his job, Jai steps up as manager by firing his part-time colleagues and re-hiring them on zero-hour contracts and offers to promote him for his troubles, Jai’s unsure whether or not to betray his friends. Jai finally reveals the situation to Laurel and she’s stunned to hear he intends to go through with it in order to keep his job. Laurel insists he should fight for his friends’ rights. Later that day, Jai’s forced into a corner when Kim coldly reiterates if Jai doesn’t do it, she’ll hire someone who will.

Chloe is soon off with Nate at the first opportunity. She’s soon cheering up Nate who is licking his wounds after a call where Tracy has admitted she is dating someone new. An unseen Noah spots Chloe with Nate and looks revengeful.

The next day Vanessa wonders what she can do to make it up to Suzy. Soon she’s dressing up to impress for a wine tasting at David’s Shop. The date goes well and they soon move onto the Woolpack for another drink but Leyla’s rattled to see Suzy and Vanessa together and Vanessa’s curious how the pair know each other. Suzy explains it’s through work but Leyla’s clearly shaken and Suzy promises to keep her secrets.

Monday 25th April 2022

April prepares welcome home decorations for Marlon’s return. While Mary reassures her daughter she’s there to support her throughout his recovery. Meanwhile, in the hospital, Marlon thanks Gail and prepares to leave. Back in the village, Cain and Chas watch from the pub as an emotional Marlon arrives back home. Once he’s settled in, it’s slightly chaotic as they start to work out a way of going forward.

Kim’s exasperated with Jai when she sees her staff on the picket line outside the HOP and immediately demotes him until he resolves the situation. With the picket line deterring customers, Kim demands Jai gets her staff back inside but she’s stunned by his reaction.

Amelia’s narked when Kerry jokes about the amount of filters she uses on her photos. But is there something more worrying at the root of this?

In the Woolpack, Cain and Faith share a rare moment of fun together as they celebrate Moira’s birthday.

Priya is relieved to see Al and Kerry are stronger than ever. Al’s impressed by Belle. Lydia and Sam express disapproval at Cain’s recent behaviour. When Chas diffuses trouble she’s worried Cain won’t let the feud lie.

Tuesday 26th April 2022

The next day Kim’s furious she’s forced to waitress when a wealthy friend turns up for a coffee. Before long Jai and Laurel meet with a stubborn Kim and present a case study against zero-hour contracts. Hopeful they’ve made a difference. That evening, Laurel arrives at Holdgate to tell Jai she wants to get properly back together after seeing the way he acted during the strike. The two are elated to be finally reunited.

Before long April’s pleased to spend time with her dad. But when April helps her dad to a drink of water Marlon starts choking. April is terrified believing he’s having another stroke and calls desperately for Rhona. Both April and Marlon are distraught. The next day April arranges to spend time at a friend’s house rather than be at home. Whilst Marlon despairs to see the stress his condition is placing on his family, adamant he should return going to hospital.

Things are moving fast and going well for Marcus and Ethan. Ethan is moving into Tall Trees and Marcus helps him..

Wednesday 27th April 2022

Soon Rhona plays mediator between a tearful April and Marlon. But April wants to talk to her father alone. Soon an emotional conversation follows. Can April convince her father to stay with them at home?

Jai’s on top of the world. But it’s clear Kim is still bitter. When Jai realises his wallet is missing he and Laurel return to Take A Vow to search but when they find it down the back of a chair, they’re shocked to discover a tiny bag of drugs. Both Priya and Laurel accuse him of owning the drugs, a confused Jai struggles to find an explanation. Assuming this is an admittance of guilt, Laurel explodes with rage. While Jai’s convinced Kim planted them.

On moving in day Ethan begs Charles not to wind Marcus up – but will he be able to resist?Soon Ethan returns with good news about his job future and the two toast a successful day.

Thursday 28th April 2022

Soon the pair are frustrated when Ethan’s urgently called into work. At the police station, Ethan meets Jordan who’s been arrested on suspicion of assault. Determined to do a good job Ethan takes the case. But after having interviewed his client Ethan’s startled to see the CCTV image of Jordan’s victim. Meanwhile in the hospital room, we see a beaten up Billy has sustained serious injuries and it becomes clear he is Jordan’s victim. Over in the police station, Ethan declares although he knows Billy, there’s no conflict of interest but suggests to Jordan that he may prefer to seek alternative representation. But Jordan’s adamant he wants Ethan as his legal counsel, leaving Ethan in an awkward position. Meanwhile at the hospital, a broken Billy tells Dawn the attack was racially aggravated. Will and Dawn are certain that justice will prevail but Billy isn’t so sure. Bumping into each other at the police station, Harriet encourages Ethan to withdraw from the case. Warning how difficult this case will make his personal relationships.

The next day, Jai’s determined to win Laurel round, and when she finally entertains his story he almost collapses in relief. But things take a turn when later that evening, Rishi tells a shocked Laurel about how the kids nearly caught Jai with the drugs when he came close to relapsing a few weeks ago. And her anger comes to a boil, shocked at what the kids could have got mixed up with. Jai fights tears as he realises he’s just lost everything and soon things are made worse.

Whilst Chloe’s distracted in the pub Noah seizes his opportunity to steal Chloe’s phone – what is he up to?

the family begin to navigate their new future. Marlon finds it hard to communicate but could Bear hold some answers?

Friday 29th April

Ethan is daunted.

With Jai having managed to stay on at work soon Jai and Laurel’s bickering behind the counter causes Kim to put both their jobs on the line.

Rhona jumps in back at work in the vets to help Dawn with an injured dog. Marlon’s worried about family finances when Charity informs him he’ll have to go onto statutory sick pay. In the afternoon, Rhona glows from being back at work, and suggests working part time to bring in some more money

Noah is still following Chloe who is disinterested in him.
