Marilyn confronts John over his ‘pity order’ of sunscreen, but he denies all knowledge. Later, Ruth and Irene indulge Marilyn by agreeing to hear more about Stunning Organics, and Marilyn is surprised to learn it was Alf, and not in fact John who ordered the sunscreen. Sheepish, Marilyn apologises to John, and they find common ground over wanting to give Jett the very best for his wedding.
Xander returns home from hospital and is still fixated on Jamie’s funeral arrangements, with Rose believing he’s prioritising it over his own recovery. When Xander discovers the funeral is that day and Rose has kept it from him, he feels betrayed. Xander demands to go to the funeral, but Rose is determined – it’s not the best thing for his recovery and she won’t take him.
When Mali arrives later to pick Xander up, Rose is livid. But after some encouragement from Mali to support her brother, Rose ends up taking him to the funeral after all. Xander appreciates her support, grateful for the opportunity to say goodbye, but when Rose goes to bed it’s clear that he is still haunted by survivor’s guilt.
