Eden confides in Cash that she doesn’t want to share their love song with Lyrik because it’s personal to them, but Cash points out that she has already performed the song in public – he doesn’t get the big deal. When Eden seeks advice from Kirby later, she tells her the audience will always take their own meaning from a song, but this is no comfort to Eden – what if she doesn’t want the meaning to change?
Mackenzie is adamant she’s drawn a line under Gabe and is moving on, but while she puts on a brave face for her friends, she privately struggles. Mali can tell Mackenzie is not coping and offers his support, but Mackenzie refuses to fall apart for months the way she did last time Gabe left. Later, when Mali receives a box of his personal things from back home, it hits him that he can’t go back, and Mackenzie asks him to move in with her – she could use the company after all.
Marilyn is excited following Kirby’s successful social media push for Stunning Organics, but the pair have some explaining to do when Irene discovers they’ve offered a free coffee with every purchase. While Kirby and Marilyn apologise, Marilyn remains distracted by her burgeoning sales career but is surprised to see one large order of sunscreen addressed to the surf club. She’s convinced that John is behind it.
