Toadie arrives home and takes umbrage at JJ’s presence, as JJ and Nell struggle to quash their feelings for one another. Oblivious to their attraction, Dex works to secure a date, but is disappointed when Nell misses his hints. After JJ’s reluctant advice, Dex suggests an online anime retrospective. When Nell is eager, JJ puts on a show of happiness for his brother but privately itches with jealousy. Left alone, Terese and Toadie find themselves falling into a kiss and reignite the spark in their marriage. As the couple bask in the afterglow, Toadie is struck with the perfect fish name for Terese, ‘Swordfish’. Nell and Hugo are happy to see Toadie and Terese loved up – the two are officially back on track.
Trying to stay in Aaron’s orbit, Logan is privately thrilled when Aaron agrees to give him a cocktail lesson. Caught up in the fun, Logan cheekily doffs his shaker lid like a hat and Aaron freezes at the haunting reminder of his loved-up cocktail-off with David. In overwhelmed panic, Aaron snaps at a confused Logan and orders him to leave. Later, Aaron apologies, admitting he was reminded of a special moment with David and it spooked him. Logan encourages Aaron to keep David’s memory alive, offering his listening ear. It all seems sincere, but as soon as Logan’s alone, he brings up Aaron’s social media feed and scrolls through David and Aaron’s wedding photos, enjoying being in the same location as their nuptials.
Vic struggles to process his shock remission. At a family breakfast celebrating the new vineyard venture, Vic works to maintain his cheerful smile, unsure how to break the news. When Jane shows up, Nicolette and Byron are too busy relishing the celebration to notice the uncomfortable air between their parents, post-kiss. After Nicolette’s heartfelt speech, Vic readies to announce his momentous news. But as he takes in the joyful faces of those he loves, he loses courage. Later, Vic apologises to Jane for the kiss, but in-denial, she asserts that it’s forgotten. Sincere, Jane tells Vic that she’s grateful that he’s devoted the time he has left to their kids and given them a life-changing legacy. In return, Vic tells Jane that it means the world that they’ve had the chance to make peace. Later, Nicolette and Byron are anxious when they can’t get hold of Vic. Expecting to find him napping at the Share House, they reel when they find Vic’s belongings gone and envelopes addressed to each of them. Nicolette and Byron are in disbelief. Has Vic skipped town?
