Walford is set for fireworks as Michael French makes a thrilling comeback as David Wicks later this year, just in time for EastEnders’ 40th anniversary.

Albert Square is bracing for the return of one of its most notorious characters, David Wicks, portrayed by Michael French. Known for his smooth-talking ways and tangled relationships, David’s comeback promises plenty of drama.

David Wicks, son of the legendary Pat Butcher and Pete Beale, has a storied past in Walford, marked by family feuds, deceit, and explosive storylines. From his affair with Cindy Beale that nearly led to Ian Beale’s death, to the shocking revelation of Bianca Jackson being his secret daughter, David’s history is a whirlwind of controversy.

His last stint in 2013 saw him leaving after a failed attempt to rekindle romance with Carol Jackson, ending with a sudden heart attack that dashed their wedding plans. Now, the circumstances of his return are under wraps, but trouble is undoubtedly on the horizon.

Michael French shared his excitement, saying, “I feel honoured to be asked to reprise the role of David Wicks once again. It may only be a brief visit, but we know from his past that David never fails to create a lot of drama in a very short time.”

EastEnders Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw added, “David Wicks is undoubtedly one of EastEnders’ most beloved rogues, and we are thrilled to welcome the talented Michael French back to the legendary role as we lead up to the show’s 40th anniversary. David’s character was never shy of drama during his previous stints, and I can assure you this return will be no different.”

Get ready, EastEnders fans—David Wicks is back, and he’s sure to leave a trail of chaos in his wake!
