Refusing Cindy’s offer of pills, Lauren’s condition worsens, leading Peter to rush her to the hospital in fear for their baby. Though the scan shows the baby is unharmed, a private chat with the sonographer reveals that quitting the pills cold turkey could jeopardize the pregnancy. Under pressure, Lauren turns back to Cindy for more pills, but when Louie stumbles upon the baby scan, Cindy realizes the shocking truth—Lauren is using while pregnant.
The revelation sparks a fierce confrontation between Cindy and Lauren, with Cindy demanding Lauren confess to Peter or face exposure. Meanwhile, Peter, oblivious to the full extent of Lauren’s struggles, opens up to Ian about her mood swings. Ian advises Peter to propose, believing it will show his commitment to their family.
Elsewhere, George confides in Lauren about Kojo’s silence regarding the accident. Sensing an opportunity, Lauren presses Kojo for details that could implicate Cindy. However, Cindy ultimately gives in and supplies Lauren with more pills. Alone at home, Lauren takes them but falls unconscious, setting off a terrifying chain of events when a fallen candle ignites a fire in the flat.
Meanwhile, Stacey and Martin grapple with the fallout from their unexpected kiss. While Zack urges Martin to focus on Roman and Ruby, Stacey turns to Jean for advice. Jean encourages her to confront her true feelings and visit Martin in the hospital before it’s too late.
