In the aftermath of Sadie destroying her mirror and make up, Wendy realizes how delicate her daughter’s mental state is, and how much help and support she really needs. As Sadie is introduced to the concept of ‘reframing’, Wendy decides to take matters into her own hands by bringing Sadie and Byron back together. On seeing how much Byron wants to make it up to her, Sadie asks him, Holly and Max to join her in the reframing exercise – visualising the fire, but with an alternate outcome. An outcome where Sadie comes out uninjured and okay. It’s a cathartic experience for Sadie and one that brings her and Byron closer. But when he asks if he can help rebandage her wounds, Sadie turns down the request. Two steps forward, one step back…

Darcy is given a tour of Eirini by Karl and Susan and is as impressed as they said he would be. While he’s there he notices one of Karl’s patients, Vera, having serious stomach pains. Karl, knowing Vera’s history, is confident it’s just indigestion, but Darcy thinks otherwise and makes the call to take Vera to hospital. His hunch was right after it’s discovered that Vera has a swollen appendix. Karl is shocked that he missed the diagnosis and Darcy delicately wonders if Karl’s medication is hampering his judgement. Karl takes offence, everything he’s doing now is by the book. But later, when Susan also questions his judgement, he can’t help but snap, leaving Susan concerned that something is going on with Karl.

Cara and Remi are out for a walk when they cross with Gino who presumes baby Thomas is their son. When Cara doesn’t correct him – she confirms it – Remi is shocked and disturbed. Later, Remi confronts Cara, reflecting on how possessive Cara is being – acting like Thomas is her son. Cara becomes upset at the accusation, but later confesses she’s not gotten over her hysterectomy (and subsequent end of their baby journey). Remi wants to be there to help her wife, but Cara’s not sure how to get past it.
