Monday

It’s the day before Tane and Harper’s wedding… and tension fills the air. Cash is on a short tempered Tane’s heels, but their conversation is halted for a meeting with John, who expresses his own veiled concerns over Tane’s attitude toward the wedding. Tane maintains everything is fine but back at home, Cash finally gets to confront him – are you in love with Harper or not?

Dana stumbles across Harper who’s in tears and wearing her wedding dress. Dana wants to know what’s changed and pushes for Harper to ask Tane for certain whether he loves her or not. This terrifies Harper – what if he doesn’t? Harper overhears Cash asking the same question and she busts in – does he love her? It’s a yes or no question. Tane answers her question truthfully – no. He wants to put this behind them, and through gritted teeth, she agrees. Harper explains to Dana who promises support, no matter what. The next morning, Harper arrives on Tane’s doorstep and tells him she can’t do it. She knows he cares about her, but she deserves more. She won’t bring their child up in a lie, and she doesn’t want a loveless marriage.

Eden reveals to an excited Kirby that she wants her engagement with Cash back on, but her intentions are once again diverted when a downtrodden Cash arrives following his conversation with Harper and Tane. He was trying to help, but maybe he’s just stuffed things up. The next morning, Tane confirms with them – the wedding’s off.

Dana, Irene and John are preparing for the big day when Harper shows up and explains she’s calling the wedding off. Irene and John are sympathetic but move off to get it sorted. Cash stops by to offer his condolences. It’s not Harper’s fault, it just wasn’t meant to be. Harper hands Cash her ring back, asking for him to please give it back to Tane for her.

Kirby’s been practicing hard as Justin reveals he’s booked a studio space for her recording. Kirby shares her concerns over juggling work at the board shop, so Justin encourages her to talk to Mali about it – it’s not good for his business, or her work.

Tuesday

Mali, Abigail, Mackenzie and Levi are headed to the wedding together and Mackenzie insists that she drive, even if that means she won’t be able to drink… She’s saved from revealing the truth of her and Levi’s pregnancy attempts by Eden arriving to let them know the wedding is cancelled. Mackenzie goes to support Tane but returns with desires to pickup where she and Levi left off. However, their plans are thwarted by Abigail and Mali, who finally get the full picture thanks to Levi spilling the beans – we’re trying for a baby. Abigail is shocked, and although Mali is frustrated over Kirby giving him two weeks’ notice, he expresses genuine excitement for Levi and Mackenzie. In fact, he puts it out there – do you know how much I love you?

In Salt, it’s all hands on deck to get rid of stock, cancel people’s shifts, and get the cancelled ceremony packed down. Eden’s still trying to find the right moment to tell Cash she wants the engagement back on and Levi persuades her there’s no right time. So, Eden finds a moment and a bottle of bubbly, but before she can share her feelings, Cash affirms they made the right decision to put off their engagement. Eden is stymied. It seems the wrong moment does exist.

Tane has been letting his extended family, whānau, know the wedding’s off and affirms with Cash that Archie will still have a great life. Cash has to admit there was something else Harper wanted to give to Tane – the ring back. Mackenzie arrives to support and guides Tane’s focus back to making sure he is doing what’s best for the baby, when Tane gets a text from Harper wanting to meet up.

Dana and Irene support Harper, helping her consider how her parenting with Tane is going to be affected. When Harper and Tane meet, she’s direct – they need to talk about moving forward with Archie. He suggests they return to their original plan to co-parent, like nothing has changed. This hits Harper hard. She feels everything has changed and makes a snap decision – she doesn’t want him in Archie’s life at all. Tane’s appeals only anger Harper, and Cash intervenes. After Cash cools him down, Tane returns to Harper and pleads – he knows she’s hurting, but he’s begging to be present in his son’s life. Harper asks that he let her get through the birth, then they can work out an agreement moving forward.

Wednesday

Abigail races back to work at Salt – and away from the Mali’s dedication of love. She spends the day keeping him at arm’s length and eventually finds herself crashing Levi and Mackenzie‘s night alone at home. Levi is supportive as she confesses she‘s not ready for this. The next morning, her attempt to talk with Mali fails, and she has to leave, explaining her distrust of love. When Mali finds her on the beach, he‘s honest – he knew a long time ago how he feels about her. She is scared but manages to say it aloud – she loves him too.

Alf returns to the Bay and immediately picks up that something’s amiss with Marilyn. She explains she’s felt unsafe at home and has been staying with Irene. Alf confronts Roo about what’s going on and Roo tells him the truth – Eliza threatened a boy with a broken bottle, and she’s been stealing things, including Alf‘s knife. Roo is moved to apologise to Marilyn, but it backfires when Marilyn tells her she needs to call the department about Eliza. Roo leaves, fired up. Marilyn decides she’ll need to look after Roo herself – by moving back in. But when she returns home, Roo’s bitter, suggesting Marilyn’s only coming home to tell her what to do, just like her father.

Bree’s worried for Sonny’s safety, regarding his involvement with the River Boy, but Justin and Remi don’t share the concern. She presses Remi, who still has no forgiveness for Sonny’s actions in making a move on Bree, so takes it upon herself to reach out to him direct – and messages to meet up.

Thursday

Bree arrives to meet up with Sonny just as Gage and Lacey are harassing him. He’s open with her, feeling he deserves the hard time Remi’s been giving him. Bree’s determined they sort it out, so brings him back to Remi and leaves them to it. She confronts Gage and Lacey at the Surf Club, warning them Sonny doesn’t need any trouble, but they shrug her off. Back at home, Remi eventually concedes; if Bree can forgive Sonny, then he should too. Sonny shares with Remi that Theo has himself in deep trouble, and they can’t go to the cops about it. They’re unsure how to fix the Theo problem, but at least when Bree returns, she’s glad to see them fixing their own problems.

Alf isn’t sure if Marilyn should have moved back in, but she explains she’s also worried about him, too. Roo’s making plans for Harper to speak with Eliza when Eliza turns up, ready to apologise to Alf. She assures him it won’t happen again, but Alf comes down hard. He insists she’s grounded and will be helping him out at the bait shop and the club – my house, my rules. Furious at the circumstances, Eliza leaves halfway through the work she’s allocated, and Alf confronts her at home. Roo backs Eliza, feeling Alf’s punishment is too harsh. Roo makes the decisions for Eliza and tomorrow, she’ll be spending the day with Harper.

Theo shows up in his newly finished car. It sparkles and grunts, and Leah and Justin are impressed. He assures them he has the loan under control, he wants to enjoy driving his new toy for a bit before selling it. Justin reveals he’s heard there’s stolen car parts the River Boys have been working with and he’s concerned that Theo cut corners. This angers Theo – you need to trust me. Theo presents his car to Gage who is determined to buy it off him. They sit down at the table and Theo won’t budge – his car’s not for sale. To make matters worse, when Gage’s back is turned, Theo and Lacey’s feet touch – he’s playing a dangerous game.

Friday

Alf buttons off a call with John, noting he’s going to sort Eliza out – knowing full well she’s been listening in from the stairs. He’ll teach her respect, even if it’s over his dead body, but Eliza only smirks and asks – you done? The next morning, Eliza arrives to spend the day with Harper, much to Marilyn’s dismay. Marilyn observes Eliza’s awkward interactions with Harper, but Harper is convinced she just needs Eliza to trust her. Eliza suggests a walk, and Harper agrees, which only escalates Marilyn’s concerns. They come across Tane – and conflict flares up over Harper spending time alone with Eliza. Tane’s concerned she’s not safe, but Harper makes it clear – it’s none of his business, they’re not together.

John catches up with Tane, who explains Harper has requested he not attend the birth. John tries to encourage him about the big picture, but Tane’s concerns remain. He searches for Roo and asks if Marilyn could please try to stay nearby Harper and Eliza. She reports back to Tane that they’re home and safe – but while she’s upstairs Harper and Eliza go for a drive.

Behind Gage’s back, Theo continues to flirt with Lacey, but Sonny interrupts to try and persuade Theo to back off, and more importantly; accept the money Gage is offering to buy his car. Theo doesn’t back down, but Sonny negotiates no more lectures in return for a debrief brekky. Behind Theo’s back, Sonny meets one on one with Gage and tries to swap himself out with Theo as Gage’s driver. An offer Gage has no interest in. Meanwhile, Theo and Lacey get intimate in his car. They return from a joyride and share one last kiss in the car park. But they are spotted by Gage who is sent into a fiery rage.
