Monday

Bree arrives at the hospital, to discover her emergency patient is Theo, rushed to hospital after being crushed with his own car by River Boy Gage. Sonny has been by his side but rises to confront Cash as he arrives. Why didn’t he come to their aid sooner? This isn’t the place for an argument and both are quickly ejected by nurse Dana. Cash forces Sonny to drop the attitude and give him all the information but Sonny didn’t actually witness anything, he had been dragged outside and given a hiding, meaning he wasn’t present during Theo’s moment of need. Dana clocks Sonny concealing the severity of his injuries and when Justin arrives to have a go at him, a mere hand to his chest has Sonny collapsing in pain. Bree and Dana make sure he’s taken care of, but Sonny’s a difficult patient, he’s far more concerned with updates on Theo’s critical condition…

Meanwhile, Bree calls for Levi – there’s bleeding in the sack around Theo’s heart and they’ll need to conduct a pericardiocentesis. Bree and Levi operate together, and Theo stabilises. Leah and Justin are distraught to learn of Theo’s condition and Justin doubles down on blaming Sonny, – he was egging Theo on the whole time. He expresses his anger toward Remi, but Remi defends Sonny. He argues that this is Theo’s own doing. He slept with a River Boy’s girlfriend. Their disagreement is interrupted by Theo’s medical alarms. Levi takes him into surgery and both Justin and Leah are left feeling someone has to pay for this. For Justin – that person is Sonny.

Convinced Gage is the culprit, Cash turns up at the River Boy warehouse where Gage, Lacey, Edmund and the River Boys are in total denial of ever hearing the name ‘Spanner’ (the name Sonny gave Cash). Proving there’s nothing to hide, Gage offers for himself, Lacey and Edmund (Spanner) to come into the station for questioning. Cash pulls a very confident Gage in first, but it’s clear that Lacey is the weakest link.

Tuesday

Bree updates Justin and Leah that Theo’s complication is dealt with for now, but they need to keep an eye on him. Meanwhile Remi and Eden are sent home after Sonny’s scans come back and things are looking okay, but he needs rest. On their way out, Justin bumps heads with Remi again who stands his ground on behalf of Sonny – it was Sonny who saved Theo’s life.

Cash’s interview with Gage doesn’t get him far, and Gage makes it clear he knows Cash’s weak point – Eden. However, Cash’s interview with Lacey is more revealing – she seems to genuinely care about Theo, and although she walks back out the door with Gage, Cash feels he’s hit a nerve. Later when Cash returns to Sonny, he confirms his main attacker was ‘Spanner’, real name: ‘Edmund’. This might not be evidence to arrest Gage, but Cash considers it a step closer, and Cash arrests Spanner for assaulting Sonny. As Cash takes Spanner away, Gage deflects about Lacey’s current whereabouts, which stirs curiosity in Cash. In fact, Lacey turns up at the hospital in search of Theo. She finds Sonny who explains Theo’s critical condition, and Sonny encourages her to make sure Gage pays for what he did to Theo. Word gets to Cash that Lacey was checking on Theo at the hospital, but his drive by the River Boy warehouse shows her back in Gage’s arms. Cash is thrown as to where her allegiance lies – until she shows up at the police station, asking if he can still give her protection.

Irene fawns over baby Archie, and Tane admits he’s travelling by the seat of his pants but smiles proudly – it feels right. Irene encourages him to keep showing up for Harper and he asks to stay overnight to help if Harper needs anything. But in the middle of the night, Harper turns him away coldly when he tries to help. The next day, Harper continues to push Tane away. After he’s given her some space, he runs into Irene and shares with her that he has to speak his mind – Harper needs to let him help.

Wednesday

Tane and Irene unpack his position as both Harper’s ex, and the father of her new baby. He’s determined to find the right moment to talk about their situation with her. However, Harper continually shrugs him off. He’s told not to swoop in – it’s Archie’s bathtime and Tane should go home. Marilyn‘s feeling the tension and when Alf and Roo confirm things are on track with Eliza, she moves back home from Irene‘s. The next morning Tane arrives with breakfast and finally gets his moment – this isn’t working for either of them and he won’t let her continue to shut him out. Harper is honest – she’s struggling to have Tane around the house, so he makes a counter-offer – she should let him spend the day with Archie?

Leah and Justin pause their friction over Remi’s attitude and pointing the finger at Sonny and Lacey when Theo wakes up. The medical staff race to his side as his alarms go off, but things are finally looking positive. He can give his statement to Cash, though his concerns are much more focused on the safety of Lacey.

While Lacey is under Cash’s protection at the police station, her phone continues to buzz – Gage is desperate to find out where she is, and she’s on edge. Cash asks her to help put Gage away, and persuades her to speak her truth of Theo being dragged under the car, and identifying Gage as holding the controller – it was him who dropped the car on Theo. He was furious when he discovered she and Theo were sleeping together. Later, Cash arrives at Theo’s bedside, and Theo confirms it was Gage that lowered the car on him, matching Lacey’s statement and sending Cash ready to make his way to arrest Gage. To his surprise, Lacey is present with the River Boys and lounging with Gage while he is torn away in cuffs. Lacey asides to Cash – this was her plan, there will be no questions asked if she is in Gage’s lap when the cops show up.

Theo’s pain has resided a little and he gets an unexpected visitor – Lacey. She‘s checking in on him, updating him about Gage‘s arrest, reassuring he won’t be a problem anymore. They share a kiss and she will try to be back soon. But as Leah leads her out, Theo’s protective aunt issues Lacey a stern warning: she’s not to visit Theo again – she‘s forbidden to return and must cut all contact.

Thursday

Tane introduces Archie to the beach for the first time, and they look out towards New Zealand. Tane is excited to have Archie for the whole day and proudly introduces him to Mali, John and of course, Alf Stewart. Eliza gets wind that baby Archie’s at the surf club and she and Roo arrive, but Eliza is immediately frustrated by Tane who won’t let her hold the baby. Eliza presents to Tane the video of Harper giving birth, but Tane is horrified – what did she think she was filming? A birth? Or a death? Later, Tane and Archie visit Mackenzie at home, and Auntie Mack gets a cuddle and a photo with Archie before Tane’s summoned back to Harper. He leaves with parting words – it will be your turn next. Mackenzie lets those words sink in and pulls out a pregnancy test.

Roo and Alf offer to start paying Eliza to keep her on task with her chores, and they’re impressed when it works. Later in the day, Alf isn’t feeling too crash hot and asks Eliza to grab his heart pills from inside the bait shop. But when she steps inside to get them, she pockets them instead and lies, claiming she’s unable to find them. Alf’s confusion is escalated by his growing chest pain, but Eliza is adamant that she looked everywhere. Is Eliza really going to withhold the pills that could save Alf’s life?

Abigail asks Mackenzie if she can take the day off work to help Mali. She’s worried he needs help at the shop considering he’s working solo at the moment. Mackenzie gives her the day but reminds her Mali’s terrible at accepting help. Mali’s frustrated as he rejects help from both Abigail, and also Kirby – neither of them work for him anymore. He sends them away, insisting he has everything under control. Kirby and Abigail brainstorm ways to get through to him and eventually mislead him into coming to Kirby’s place with a ruse of Kirby being deeply hurt by him. He admits it’s been a struggle to run the board shop alone and agrees for Abigail to help out a little while he and Kirby work on finding a replacement for the irreplaceable Kirby.

Friday

While John and Roo chat calmly about Alf’s whereabouts, Alf is in desperate pain at the bait shop, shouting at Eliza to get his phone. But she reacts slowly, watching as he suffers. As she searches the bait shop, allegedly for Alf’s phone to call for help, she sends away a concerned customer, and reports back to Alf the phone battery is dead. Alf’s clutching his chest, and the clock is ticking when John arrives just in time to help. Recovering back at the house with Marilyn and John’s help, Alf’s is fine once reunited with the other supply of heart pills. Roo arrives, having been notified, and all are relieved Alf is alright, but terribly confused when they realise Eliza is gone…

Irene’s spooked when Eliza’s suddenly in her loungeroom, looking for Harper. Eliza is determined to show Harper something… even if that means waiting a long while. But Irene stands her ground. When Roo arrives, she confronts Eliza over entering houses uninvited, and more importantly, what happened with Alf? Eliza’s cold words leave Roo rattled – trust me, if I wanted to hurt him, I would have done a better job. That night at dinner, the conversation is stilted. Eliza politely clears plates and heads to her room, leaving Roo at a loss. She apologises to Marilyn – maybe she was right all along. Eliza doesn’t seem to have the capacity to show remorse, and Roo thinks it’s possible that maybe Eliza was going to let Alf die today.

Kirby and Mali make a peaceful farewell to her time at the board shop, but when she’s alone she opens the article Seb wrote about her. And it’s far from what she had hoped. She brings it immediately to Mali, and as he reads it becomes abundantly clear the article slams Mali for his poor management as a boss. Mali’s furious. He takes the article home where Levi and Mackenzie are upset on his behalf, but Abigail is less sympathetic. She explains that the part about him being rude to Kirby was true. Mali can’t believe she isn’t willing to back him or at least keep that opinion to herself. Tension between them rises.

Levi searches for Mackenzie, and Abigail points out she’s not at work like she said she was. When he finds her at home, she’s in tears. She did a pregnancy test and it was negative. Once she’s calmed down, they unpack. She has five tests in the draw, and she knows she wasn’t likely to be positive, but she thought it was possible. Levi tries to keep her on task – they only just started trying, they’re going to have to give it a lot more time.
