After 24 years of drama in Shieldinch, 2026 marks the end of the line for River City.
More than 1500 episodes and over 2 decades of murder, mayhem and chaos have been seen since the show came to our screens in September 2002.
Speaking about the special, Commissioning Editor for Drama at BBC Scotland, Gavin Smith says: ‘We’re thrilled that the Solus team will be producing this fabulous celebration of Shieldinch as part of our River City finale plans.
It will be a lovely stroll down Montego Street memory lane full of great clips and great stories.’
Looking back on some of the most defining moments from River City’s 24 years on screen, the current cast will come together in their on-screen family groupings for this celebratory special to rewatch highlights and reminisce about shooting these famous scenes.
River City: Our Story, will celebrate the legacy of BBC Scotland’s long-running drama series as it comes to an end in Autumn 2026.
